Let’s turn it on and see.

It would have a net negative effect upon the game in general. I remember when I played EQ 1 they had player collision and it was abused like crazy. Players who played large races would block dungeon entrances/exits. Nothing was funnier than the rage in chat when someone would pull a train of mob to a blocked exit and everyone in the path would just be trapped.
Wow, yeah, we had an Ogre guildy that went afk when we zoned into some zone (I can’t remember which) that dropped you straight down into it. We were all stuck inside him until he came back. It was hilarious ngl.
Yeah, that would ruin the game for everyone!
Remember age of conan. One of the map had a rope bridge you had to pass. So high levels would camp it on a large mount with knockback and block or kick people off it.
Also wasn’t long ago where a new toy had collision and first thing to happen was that it was used to block the door to the portal room.
How about let’s not do that…
Take a Mammoth-coated NPC from early days expansion launch and multiply it by infinity; that is how annoying collision detection in an MMO would be.
I swear people act like there are collision mechanics in EotS. I am like… you can push forward into mid… you don’t have to stop at the edge, just because the enemy is standing in your way.
