I wouldn’t mind Tanaris and Ungoro, if you let us get the Kalimdor Steamwhedle.
Thousand Needles, Azshara, Stonetalon … they were all pretty neutral. Desolace was once Tauren land, it be nice to see rolling fields there again. Also pretty sure the Tauren have had holdings in Feralas for AGES.
Given the Kalimdor Tauren weren’t a unified people, and claimed no land as wandering nomads until WCIII, I’m inclined to doubt their holdings predate Eldre’thalas. Probably not even the original Feathermoon Stronghold.
Fair answers. I just wanted to see what people’s thoughts were on the matter. I think the only zone that should have gone Horde and did is Azshara.
I did not like what happened with Southshore one bit, not the way they presented it. If they had gone with the original plan (tidal wave), it would have, imo, gone down better. Still sucks, but a bit better.
1000 Needles, as I recall and it has been a long time, had more Horde content than Alliance. I hated Desolace, but I would have accepted it.
I agree with this. Feralas has Feathermoon Stronghold, so keep it neutral otherwise you have a Southshore situation again. Stonetalon borders Ashenvale and Barrens so best to keep it neutral, too.
Andorhal is the sticky one since it and WPL borders Tirisfal Glades. I can see why they put the faction war there since Varian, at the time, wanted to reclaim Lordaeron and there was a war going on.
Well … if you’re being literal … then nearly every single remaining territory on Azeroth once was Kaldorei holdings so you’re going to run into THAT specific issue no matter where you go. On the other hand, while I have no problem with the Forsaken slaughtering farmers in Eastern Plagueland (what, the hell, are they doing there) … if the Forsaken had gone a different route (and Blizz weren’t so damned ruthless with the poor Drakkari) we might have merely seen the Horde start settling parts of Northrend.
Borean Tundra is … aweful, but it does have some valuable natural resources. In contrast, Howling Fjord, Grizzly Hills and Zul’Drak would have been AMAZING territorial acquisition points for the Horde (not sure how they would work in alleviating the the early game leveling experience; but cool). It really is sort of hard to work around the fact that the Vanilla Alliance sort of held an absolutely absurd amount of the original continents…
But unlike a bunch of the other zones listed, it actually borders mulgore so it’d be useful as a leveling zone, which is where the problem came in, there were more leveling zones for alliance to go through than horde, and 1k needles or Un’goro are at the far end of the Barrens for either of the races.
Anyway … back on topic. The Alliance Players SHOULD get some form of satisfying resolution. I would love for either Tyrande or Summermoon to take Windrunner’s head, but they’ll likely only get her sole remaining extra life at best. I actually wouldn’t mind the Kaldorei getting their territories back … its just I cannot conceivably think of a way for the Forsaken to also reclaim theirs without the destroyer of Racial Fantasies Calia taking charge of them. Hell, if you want to take a capital city or two … take em; they aren’t that important on a Meta level tbh… (though if you could do us all a favor and not just dethrone Gallywix, but destroy his stupid pleasure palace that be great).
On the other hand … just be gentle with our Rep Roster. Even Blizz didn’t have the gumption to ice any of your big names, and our roster was never as healthy as the blue team. Blizzard also doesn’t seem to like building up replacements it seems … so much so that I’m genuinely starting to worry the Forsaken and Orcs will end up just like the Darkspear atm (pretty much rudderless).
Its SUPER weird right?! He’s pretty much their leader in all but name and he’s been absolutely insanely relevant in BfA, but Zekhan gets a new model before him?! Like, look I LOVE the idea of us getting in some new blood Blizz might be invested in (and Loa knows we were in dire need of another Shaman rep) … but c’mon man Rokhan (and Shandris) are LONG overdue for custom models. So is the Council (and Gazlowe if he’s slated to lead the Cartel).
It kind of reminds me of when they just sort of announced through a twitter post that Saurfang was the new Orc Racial Leader. It was really arbitrary … and with just how many damned Doomhammer parallels the old man has I’m worried he might get the death he wanted (but does not deserve, and should not have). On the other hand, Thrall now has a chance to try to make up for past mistakes with Jaina; so MAYBE Blizz will have him actually SAVE a mentor this time?
EDIT: As a side note … I still have no idea what they have planned for Vol’jin. It was his story and the Velanora one (that vanished) that I was interested in, and nada on both fronts.
How many Horde major Horde Characters have gone neutral?
LoL, yes we have. We were purposely given a quest to fail. The Horde has not. The Horde nearly won the battle for Lorderan and left it a wasteland.
Well, you know, this is a Horde-centric expansion.
So, despite the Draenei being close and powerful enough to have turned the tide, they were again, forgotten by the writing team and absent. The Worgen and the Night Elves both lost horribly. The all too good Humans practically abandoned the Night Elves and the Worgen. Two of the most fierce and independent races of the Alliance are now refugees in Stormwind. I could go on, but you should get the idea.
Worgen who lost their home a second time to Sylvanas leading the Horde.
They could’ve reshaped Azshara more to allow more horde races, though I suppose some would complain. I wouldn’t have cared if the horde cured desolace, or fortified stonetalon.
My unrealistic view I already stated no more factions, world destruction;
After realizing they released an Old god, each faction retires to brood on their fates.
Nightelves officially retire their aid to do a full guerrilla war on their lands (whichever that ends). It never made sense to me that Shandris is helping the Alliance while half her troops are dying in Kalimdor like wtf. The don’t strike me as ppl who would just leave their forest.
Alliance enters a delicate state of loyalties fighting over what to do with this new undefeatable thread, and what led to it.
Horde goes similar, with Saurfang doing his little tantrum riot maybe this could be a dung/raid.
Meanwhile N’zoth goes raising the whole black empire, and everybody goes each to its own, until the veil of Death breaks, Muezhala making her Grammy entrance and all realize how stupid faction wars are but to late.
World is submerged in chaos.
Lets just be real the Void Elf Situation was like a Blizzard/WoW 9/11…
Like it honestly was, no one here cares about the story or WoW anymore at all, everyone is just in pure denial and going through the motions.
There’s nothing to discuss, nothing to look forward to, no game to play, the Void Elf thing killed WoW period.
I believe there’s really nothing that can be done, I’m not even watching for announcements or the game franchise anymore really at all.
Maybe once a year at most if that… maybe 2 years max and then I’m just out.
This kind of hits home for me, though it can be hard to see how the grass isn’t really greener on the other side. As someone who used to main a Forsaken Warrior, meaning I was originally a Hordie, I’ve been driven from playing Horde just on general principle when I finally came back after all of these years. Yes, the Forsaken were dark and villainous, but there were always the few who rose above because they were surrounded by the rest of the Horde, many of whom had strong principles and morals, that helped them. The whole point of even being allowed into the Horde, in fact, was that the Tauren thought they could be saved. Then Blizzard decided to turn us into the Darkling Races (besides Baine and maybe the Tauren) and everything went out the window.
maybe because if the alliance was defeated in kultiras/zandalar then shandris could say goodbye to a victory in kalimdor.
so her troops dying in kalimdor would mean nothing. because there would be a new superpower in the world.
but hey, maybe that works about going full guerrilla. lets see how far that get them.
