How would a thirteenth class work?

Not in its implementation; obviously Blizzard can do that whenever. My point of contention is that Legion made it difficult to just throw in a new class without giving them artifact weapons, or allowing them to somehow skip that expansion’s content. I’ve thought the same about my personal preference of giving each existing class a fourth spec (third for demon hunters, fifth for druids). Would Blizzard have to make artifact weapons for all of them? The easier route would be giving post-Legion classes/specs recycled purples, but not even Blizzard strikes me as that lazy.

They’d probably start them at lvl 110 without needing artifacts and can start doing bfa content assuming this is the next expansion or later

Assuming that class is a “hero class”. The death knight and the demon hunter were, but the monk was not. I suppose for the sake of ease, they could make all future classes “hero”, but that seems like a bit of a cop-out.

It joins the game and the game has even worse balance than before…people non-stop complain about their class being broken and it just gets worse and worse.

Let’s be honest, people would complain about their class even if it was mathematically perfect and could be proven as such. The ability to whine is not dependent on logic and reason.

I doubt they’ll do another class that starts at level 1 because of the class order hall and artifacts in legion. There’s no point in making new artifacts that don’t even work anymore along with an entire story line for a class that didn’t even exist in Legion. The next class will be a hero class that’s starting level is higher than what 100-110 was.

If say the new class is the Tinker, they would be top notch engineers that craft their own super charged weapon. But yeah, it’s easier to make the new classes a much higher starting level so they can jump into the most current content faster.

I would have asked the same thing pre 8.0 too, but the thing is ever since the BFA pre-patch came out Artifact weapons, Class Halls, and almost any other class exclusive feature during legion stopped becoming relevant for that expansion. My guess is the reason why blizzard did this was because they were thinking ahead so if by any chance they made a new non-hero based class in the future they no longer had to give them any new Artifact weapons, or a new class hall, in order to progress through legion.

Either that or, they will just make them start at level 120 to make them skip out on Legion entirely like demon hunters for wod content.

Poorly, if they can’t balance classes now adding one more isnt going to help.

tinker could arguably balance well
does wow need another mail class? yes there are only 2. (Since vanilla)
does wow need a class who can tank? yes
1 meele, 1 ranged, 1 tank ?

Like Feinburg said, Leigon isn’t a reason not to add a class. There is plenty of questing out side of order halls to get through the xpac. Plus it is likely that in 9.0 they will lump Leigon and Wod together in one leveling bracket so you could theoretically skip Leigon altogether. Any new class wouldn’t need an artifact weapon or class hall added.

BfA class revisions promised at launch still haven’t been finished and we’re almost half a year into this xpac. The notion that these particular devs could actually design a totally new class from scratch is about as feasible as the Browns winning the Super Bowl in 2020.

It won’t matter. Demon Hunters have zero representation in the WoD garrison.

Artifacts were nerfed to the point of being regular weapons, so I don’t see why those should matter.
No reason they have to have the class hall content either, but could always be given access to a class hall that’s kinda in a similar style to whatever they are just for content.

The class halls should never be a reason to not add new classes.

It really makes no sense to start the allied races at level 20 either, but they do.

Next expansion the dark ranger hero class will start at 120. No artifact weapons needed.

They would probably add a generic future class orderhall somewhere in Dalaran with the mission table. If your worried about redoing legion content.

They could take already existing weapons and make the ilvl high enough for legion content. Put them in as quest rewards, random drops and such. I think that would be the easiest and most likely. I hope we get a chance to find out next expac.

dark ranger is being added as a flavour to hunter players, its not going to be a class
its just gonna be like black arrows and stuff instead of arcane arrow.
