How will you level on Launch?

Day 1 August 27th servers go up.

I am considering grinding to 20 outside of questing areas. Then 5 man dungeon grinding to 60. I see this as the fastest way especially on the 1st two or three weeks with mass over crowded area and world pvp.

I’d like to hear your plans?

One XP at a time.

Praying to the RNG gods to place me in a dead layer.

Reading the quest texts cause I love the lore in this game.

Right now, it depends on what I see during the final stress test.

I think rng will decide it.

If its a lonely layer, fine, I’m happy solo leveling, and it will never be so lonely that I can’t find a 5 man when I need to.

Sometimes those lonely nights turn into a repeat run fest.

If I get a streamer server, and there is pvp, hot damn! My leveling will get sidetracked as I fight for my faction.

Crowded layer, as in 100 peeps per faction per area… leveling will go off the rails, but I expect to meet nice folks and will happily join them in whatever.

I’m going to do all 3 starting areas first before doing the Mulgore quests. I want to get in those zones while they are sharded.

By waiting 2-3 weeks for …

  1. The tourists to leave
  2. Not having to fight with 100 people over the one boar who respawned.
  3. Time for populations to settle so I don’t waste my time on dead server.
  4. Get a better idea on which servers are close to being balanced.

Striving to balance speed and efficiency as much as possible, between my 3 intended characters.

Current aim is to have all 3 characters to at least 20 by the first week (with a main pushing 30-40) and at least one toon raid ready by the end of week 2, with the other two being 60 and raid ready by week 6…

By week 8 I’m aiming to be doing at least MC/Ony on all 3, and be close or at least well on my way to having 4 epic mounts (lock getting class mount and a normal one) as well as well as hopefully maxxed Tailoring (lock), Mining (rogue), and then triple engineer (getting goblin and gnomish)… Still undecided on shaman’s second profession, probably just DIS-enchanting out of laziness.

After the work you’ve laid out. Yea. No. Laziness just doesn’t fit.
Solid plan though. I was planning to just push 1 through as fast as I could but my altaholism already has my gears turning.
I’m making most of the characters I want to play on opening day. Get that rested XP started.
Classic makes it much harder to stay with one class because I like something about every class.

Grind, complete quests if I can, but largely grind to start with. See a mob, whack it before someone else does.

Im going to play on launch day and mainly make my characters, log in them all to start getting rested and see how the starting areas are. I took vacation the following week, hoping to avoid some of the masses.

I would hope to get to max level in two months but im fine if it takes longer. I want to take my time doing quests, probably a lot of dungeons and mess around with professions.

Well, I will level in a trio with my sons. That being said school and football practice will be in full swing; so we will not be able to no life it. Weekends we will hit it hard and hopefully be caped before the first fall break where we can grind out BIS and hit some MC.

Step 1- log in.
Step 2- quest and grind my way to level 10.
Step 3- Find and tame The Rake.

Once Rakie and I are lvl 19, we will PvP until we are drenched in the tears of our enemies. After that I have no solid plans until late 30s when Rakie goes to live in the stables. Then Broken Tooth and I will be wandering the lands. You know, hunter stuff.

Rush through all the starter zone quests (group up if needed) and keep on questing and grinding.

Pick Ally and go to Dun Morough. The starting areas for Humans and Nelfs are bottlenecks. Last stress test proved that.

As Horde, I’m not sure there any are good areas outside undead due to monster density. Undead is very popular race though.
