Now that there won’t be world buffs allowed in raids, how will these melee classes be in terms of dps? I’m guessing caster classes will shine like mages/warlocks
Time for affliction locks to shine!
But i think warriors will still be top.
Still be top DPS. The meta will be UNCHANGED. People need to realize this.
You are probably right, but people like to theory craft and guess.
Affliction Warlocks will be meme spec. Removed debuff limit does not change what made Warlocks most effective when it comes to DPS. Warlocks have already been thoroughly theorycrafted and sbolt spam is, and will continue to be, the most efficient and effective DPS.
You could maybe make an argument for early phase usage of Corruption but once warlocks gain hit, sbolt spam will dominate. There is legitimately no reason to waste a GCD on a Siphon Life, for example.
Do you really think people haven’t theorycrafted Vanilla classes with the assumption of no debuff limit? Do people really think people searched for max DPS with the presumed idea that their dots would be unusable?
Comon people. Classic is a known game. There’s really no theorycrafting to be done.
They need SOMETHING to do in the downtime.
So essentially nothing has changed.
Warriors/rogues then mages then locks then everyone else
Yup.
I’d love to see Blizzard do something to combat the meta. The way SoM is setup, anyone who wants to raid better be playing standard specs for classes, i.e., if you rolled a priest or shaman, be prepared to heal.
I feel like the 10% hit from affliction talents along with longer boss fights due to increased boss HP and no world buffs might actually make warlocks better, especially early phases before hit pieces. Having those dots be a reliable source of dmg between SB spam will be a nice way of improving overall dmg.
I’m sure it won’t change much in the later phases though.
People keep on saying mages, but it depends on how long the bosses take to die. With increased HP, this stupid meme spec of arcane power/frost/fire + frost power gear, might die. Instead, some pieces of T1 may be needed.
Contrary to popular belief, T1 wasn’t that bad - at patch.
warriors are very world buff dependent Mages 1st for once!
Warriors will be nerfed but still the best due to almost unlimited rage and heroic strike spam with good gear.
Other classes should be better.
Blizz could break the meta, however, by normalizing rage like they did in Cata (Blizz did it in TBC, but the Cata version was better). That would prevent the Heroic Strike spam with near unlimited resources.
Heroic strike queueing, longer execute phases.
Rogues can now rupture when switching targets or during mechanics.
Cleave, BF.
It will be warrior>rogue>hunter>warlock>mage.
There will be no hybrid dps this time around imo.
Warlock has been theorycrafted to death. I’ve raided as a lock for a long time. There’s no mystery here with removal of debuff limit. Sbolts with proper talents simply do more damage.
That’s it, that’s all.
I can’t link a site that has an excellent online simulator. But even with full T1, DS/Ruin still beats out SM/Ruin or SM/DS by ~100 DPS. This is also assuming a raid would want to bring a warlock to do Curse of Agony or Curse of Doom. I set the length of fight to 10 minutes for the sake of argument.
Oh yeah that’s fair enough. Atleast the longer fights might work well for locks.
No one is going to play this game if it doesn’t have world buffs, just skip this game altogether
problem solved
I’m just curious why you keep posting. We get it, you like your WBs.
Clearly you won’t be playing SoM, so why do you keep crying about it?
Do you have NOTHING better to do?
He is big mad he lost his crutches. Now he has to press the right keys to do damage.
