How will stat squish change boost tokens?

Edit… meant “Level Squish”

Currently i have a 110 boost token chilling. And will probably get the edition with the 120 boost token. so first im curious what happens when you have 2 of them? do they stack? I am assuming i will just have 2 up in the right corner… a 110 and a 120.

But what level will they go to? If level 60 is the new cap… that means that 55 is the new 120? does that also mean a 110 token is now going to be level 50.41?
( (55/120)*110 ) probably rounded down… and a 120 token will just be a level 55?

Yes you can stack boosts. People really like to keep boosts hanging around, I personally use them right away.

Because 120s will be scaled down to 50 in order to get 10 levels to 60, I reckon that a lv 110 boost will become a lv 40 boost.

Hmm… that sounds terrible honestly.

like if we justify levels basing it off of a ratio of 50 = 120 then each level at the squished rate is = to 2.4 levels at the old rate. (not factoring in the 70% increased rate of level in the future because it will be 70% faster for all levels so it balances out.)

That means that a level 110 token divided by 2.4 should land you around 45.83333 call it 46.

If they drop it any more than that they will be robbing us of earned levels. if they drop a 110 token (or a level 110 character for that matter) to a level 40 then they are robbing us of 14 levels we earned before the squish.

There really is no reason to not use the 120 now. It’s gonna be the same in 9.0 as it is now. Only reason to wait is if you want to use it on one of the new DK races in 8.3 or to see if they have plans to open more race/class combos in 9.0.

As for the 110, nobody can really say what level it will convert to. I doubt even Blizz knows yet. They might just bump all the leftover 110 boosts to 120/50 when the prepatch launches. Or they could come out tomorrow and say use them now because all unused 110 boosts will be revoked and deleted in 9.0. I doubt they would do that but, you never know with Blizz these days.

I’d just boost or av level now rather than wait a year for shadowlands imo

I feel like that’s a misunderstanding of what he meant. He said 1-50 will be 60 to 70 percent faster than 1-120. Bear in mind we’re losing %60 of our levels. So going from 1-50 is either going to be the same or slightly slowed down compared to what it currently takes to gain 50 levels. I’m hoping for slowed down, you really don’t get much time in any expansion at the current leveling rate. I blew through 50 in less than a week.

Beyond that, fussing over a 110 token is kinda pointless. After poking around it looks like they’re not even sure yet how they’re going to handle things like tokens and heirloom gear when they squish levels down. The best thing you could do with it is use it now (or prior to Shadowlands) and work that character up to 120. That way it’s 50 at launch and everything is good to go. And yes, you can have a 110 and 120 at the same time. I’ve got both as we speak. I don’t know if you can have multiples of each though.

Yes you can. I’ve had as many as 5 110 unused boosts at a time. I assume 120s would be the same, though I understand they changed it so that 120s only apply to the WoW license they are connected to and not the entire Bnet account.

I agree that yes, if experience is being increased their relative value drops, but that’s just a natural consequence.

Better to just use them while it is still somewhat of a grind? (Which it doesn’t quite feel like tbh).

You didn’t earn levels on a boost though.

that really isnt the question though. all my characters are now 120… so i dont have a reason to use it unless i make an alliance character or a character on another server… ive just been saving it for a rainy day… and was just curious what is going to happen to them later.

There are 2 things you should never dig into; squishy stats and squishy diapers.

Your 110 boost will boost a character to 60 plus another to 50.

uh…
are you really trying to imply that people will be able to apply a singular boost to multiple characters?

:face_with_raised_eyebrow:

no. if 60 is the new cap, it means 50 is the new 120.

This is a good question.

Umm are you questioning my math? 110 = 60+50

HELLO?
