How were they different from Guilds now?
What is the cost to buy bank tabs?
Did we Guild Items to buy then other than Tabards?
Were the guild perks available then, such as the movemetn buff?
The main difference is that guilds will be almost assuredly required to run raids, unlike today when you can solo everything and guilds are just big chatrooms.
Guild banks didn’t exist in Vanilla. Players made bank alts.
No other items to buy but tabards.
No Guild Perks.

Guilds in vanilla were literally a large chat room. You joined and did stuff with people in that guild. No tangible perks in game. No achievements. Just green text.

So… I just want to throw this one out there. Back IN Vanilla when I played on the server “Warsong” I actually at one point was in a Social Guild that didn’t want to raid though I did. Even back then there were Pug groups for raids. I would, every week, do AQ20 and ZG with a Pug group. There were probably also pug groups for other raids but that was just the group I ran with.
Guilds are super important but pugs are not 100% out of the question. Rare, but not impossible. Just some food for thought.
Yeaaaaaaaah, and went off of a “trust” system of sorts hoping that the guild treasurer didn’t fudge the books or run off one day with everything…
I know that there are a lot of classic purists, and I am not saying it should be a feature added to Classic because I absolutely do not think it should be, but I honestly think that Guild Banks were 100% a good addition to the game and am happy they are a thing in Modern WoW. That’s one feature I will never say was a bad idea.
Yeah, things could still be ninjaed but having the ability for guildies to easily deposit and withdraw as well as access to logs and other things were nice.

Should be easy enough to set up a small website or even just a Google doc. where people can see what is deposited and who deposited it. That only leaves the trust in the guildmaster or officer(s) to manage the bank alt’s. No banks are just more cumbersome for those who have to manage the alt’s I think.
Yep, and i had the dignified job in my guild because i was the only person i trusted -.- i was also the guild leader and the main tank…i was so much less trusting back then.

Already have a nice bank toon set up, sucks she’ll never have a solo guild and all that bag space lmao. Having a blast anyway
