I’ve already moved to Mankrik. This is the only Horde PVE server. no one can transfer off. If my server dies the game is dead. I’ve future proofed myself this time.
They only care about maximum profit. Any work or effort that costs money will not be done if the profit margin is still rising quaterly despite delivering mediocre quality.
That means that Lizzard will most likely do the bare minimum for Wotlk, deliver a buggy experience and just bet on all the fools (thats us btw) to still form a line day one just so we can go back to a better time.
Pleasing the investors and shareholders is all that matters.
There is no world that Blizzard doesn’t try to cash in on WoTLK. If Blizzard dies Activision will make sure WoTLK classic happens. If Activision sells the IP then whoever buys the IP will make sure wotlk classic happens. There’s too much potential nostalgia to be cashed in on to let wotlk classic not happen.
It’s not. I was one of the first ones to buy the sparkle pony. And when they had the zhevra I was all over that too. Mounts aren’t a problem, nor is race change/name change. This is all cosmetic and doesn’t effect gameplay.
The reason TBC is having a hard time atm is because minus the launch of this expansion… the patches don’t really bring much for the average player that doesn’t raid all the time, sure there’s a couple things that are added but it’s not until sunwell or Zul’aman (mainly sunwell thou) where a whole new zone opens up with a variety of things to do, not to mention a new 5 man dungeon as well.
WOTLK is a bit different, firstly northrend is a really awesome place, it feels much more warcraft like, at least to me. Outland always felt like some weird pieced together expansion. Some of the zones are just awesome IMO. My personal fav is grizzley hills where you side with one of the 2 furbolg factions. Both starter zones are great too as it splits the playerbase up so everyone isn’t on top of each other. There’s a load of other things too and we got the big one… death knight. Literally EVERYONE at least tries that class out, even if you aren’t gonna main it. It’s a super fun class all around. I could go on and on about this expansion.
The downfall of wotlk won’t be as quick as TBC, not even close. It will hold people waaaaaaaaaaaaay longer for sure. So I can’t really say what will be it’s downside, but one thing I hope they do change for it is they don’t have cross server LFG dungeons. Because that is regarded from many as the first “BIG NO NO” for WoW.
Naxx might actually get tuned up a bit so it isn’t so entirely faceroll this time around
Wintergrasp will get NPCs or some other kind of nonsense to trigger battles on the single faction servers… or it just won’t work at all for like 6+ months
Definitely getting a “Collector’s Edition” goodie bag filled with past CE/BlizzCon stuff and some unused protodrake, mammoth, etc mount as the new thing, along with a 68 boost
Likely get DKs a week or three early so people can be 70 before launch
Somehow old Naxx will persist and piss off everyone that wanted to take pride in their Atiesh or whatever, or people will log off inside of old Naxx, only to have hundreds of characters disappear and be unplayable for weeks while GMs sort it out
Barbershop may have a lot more Retail-oriented options, if not outright giving us Retail graphics as an option
Transmog is always on the table
Everyone will get decked out in T7 gear, whine and complain that Naxx/Sarth/Maly are too easy, demand Ulduar release, and then guilds will get hardstuck on Thorim or Mimiron for 3 weeks before getting their first Yogg kill, let alone their first hardmode kill
At least one unskippable boss in every instance will have some major bug
Major whining that casuals get 10m gear while additional whining complains that only sweaty people get the better gear from 25m
Honestly I can’t think of anything too crazy in Wrath that isn’t already happening. Wrath is a good expansion, offers multiple avenues to play, and we were well into our “Retail” updates at this point. The purists are going to have their usual fits, but have far less justification for pitching them.
