I’m intending to quit this game as soon as possible and i want to know if you did quit this game, how did you do that?
i came back like 10 days later
If you want to quit… just quit?
Say bye to those (if any) you play with, unsub, and uninstall.
The game isnt a drug
I didn’t, I’m enjoying the game, so why would I quit? If you don’t like it, play something else. If you are addicted to it, then seek help.
i do believe it is sir
I usually stop playing around the start or just after a 9.1 patch the come back in when the prepatches for the next xpac comes in so I can start the cycle of disappointment again
I unsubbed and shifted my focus elsewhere, especially since I didn’t have a good relationship with the game at the time.
I definitely don’t play as much as I used to as I remained continually subbed for a decade on end, though ever since BFA came out, I have quit for months, even years at a time.
I find it easier in the past few years. I came back for flying and to possibly level a few alts.
I lasted about 3 months so don’t ask me
The only way to do it is to hack and get perma banned .
I was always subbed to this game TBC thru Cata I left once for D3 (old D2 player) and hated the idea of MoP and the removal of core designs. I came back for WoD because of Glad stance and MoP was over. However I could see the company was now changed forever, there would always be large swinging bad changes to the game I once loved.
I dabbled around in other games Neverwinter but then finally found a home in another unique MMO in 2016 Entropia Universe because of it’s real cash economy. Not going to go into a add of why I like it better but the one thing that is important in that game is it really is a sandbox. I can log in and do whatever I want. Also if I leave that game for 6 months and come back guess what… I’m not behind on gear or anything because of how the progression is in that game.
As an old RPG and MMORPG players who’s been playing blizz games for 20 years I come back to check them out but they aren’t the old expansions or D2 we loved anymore. The Devs FORCE you to play a certain way on their terms not yours and that is the worst way to design a game. That is why Blizz has failed and why I left and found other games that has what I’m looking for.
PS - Currently only subbed for TBC but somehow they managed to ruin that too so I unsubbed.
Thats what they want you to think slowly puts a tin foil hat on her head
When I quit back in December of 2011, I left for another game called SWTOR. You just stop logging in and don’t look back. When I left that game after 5 years it was because I discovered a game breaking bug, duplicated it to make sure and reported it. They in turn suspended me for 3 days and took around 700 million credits I had farmed from doing daily’s and selling crap loot.
I didn’t play another online game for 3 1/2 years because of how I was treated by Bioware, played mostly (Age of Empire / Civilization type games). Only reason I returned was when classic was released 3 months into it. Played classic for close to a year then tried retail again. I’ll more than likely walk away from this game even though I continue to grind away at the achievements if Pantheon ever becomes reality even though the game designer passed away.
Honestly i could deal with dh being nerfed, i could deal with the endless systems and grind, but what really killed wow for me was its just not feasible to play this game solo. Pugging isint fun cause even when things go well no one says anything not even a “lets group again sometime!”
Meanwhile while I wouldint say i have any close friends in ffxiv my fc at least does stuff together like trials and farming glams. I do miss wow a lot at times though. DH at its peak in bfa both specs were some of my fondest memories. But even if they bring it back i dont think I can do wow anymore.
The last straw for me was when i went healer for my raid group and i got benched despite always showing up to raid with good gear food and pots and even sharing them with guild. I dont have time to put effort into a game with that sort of mentality.
If we get more bad content like 9.0 and they ever delete the forums, I’d be gone and never look back. The forums have been more fun than SL launch and the subsequent content drought.
I haven’t quit but I took my account of subscription (using game time cards) and am playing less and less. Eventually, I’ll lose interest completely and not put in another card.
Nothing against the people who are enjoying Shadowlands but for me personally, it’s far worse than BFA.

The first time I quit I saw an addiction counselor.
The second time I quit I got kicked out of my own guild that I had led for over 3 years.
The third time I quit is yet to be determined.
Stop logging in.
Not hard… It’s just the FOMO. All your gear will be redundant next patch anyway.
If you’re truly over it, stay away from WoW for a few days, and you won’t want to play anymore…
Works every time for me.
go find something you want to do more.
Nobody who reads the forums has really quit in their heart.
I left and came back a week later … so now I do 6 month subs so that I never leave
