Great. It was the peak of the game IMO. But also the beginnings of the multi-faction grind. I’m actually leveling a new character through there now. Great zones, great characters, New types of immersive quests, overall a good story.
During the initial release of MoP they went too heavy on the dailies. Beyond that it was pretty fun. Dailies were still a core component of the game but they were varied and the necessity to do them for rewards/progress didn’t seem to last much more than a month with each release.
MoP had a really consistent patch cycle. New content in a sorta tick-tock fashion released around every 3 months. Ticks being raid tiers and Tocks being story/overworld content oriented patches.
If not for the high frequency of new updates in MoP I certainly would have been bored as each patches content wasn’t such that it entertained for more than a few months.
When not doing dailies in MoP; I did PvP, raid, achievement hunting, or focus on gold making. But new content hit at such a rate that I never really spend long doing any one thing for an extended amount of time. The core of the expansion, which they scaled back after launch, was still dailies dailies dailies.
During MoP I was leading 2 progression raids and that’s all I had time for. Main tanking on prot war during the week and main tanking on BDK on the weekends, and recruiting for raid any time I was not raiding. It burned me out so bad that once we cleared SoO heroic I destroyed my original account and went and played Guild Wars 2 full time until patch 7.0. I made a new account for Legion for some reason and played through 7.2 and found myself in the exact same position raiding too much, recruiting too much, so I quit again until 9.0. I didn’t raid at all in 9.0, and I pugged enough in 9.1 to get the shard and sockets I wanted and that was it.
I was either doing arenas, RBGs, random BGs or selling CMs. I played basically every day and always had something I wanted to be doing. PvP, especially in s14 and s15 was extremely enjoyable and accessible. I played a ton of alts too. I even raided during MoP, which aside from doing Naxx in Wrath was pretty out of the ordinary for me. It just felt like a great expansion all around.
Actually playing the game . i really didn’t start using the forums out side of trying to find out info on the things I was doing in game until Legion and that was mostly hunter threads . BfA was when I got into GD and SL I’ve put the least amount of time playing since pre Wrath
Sounds a lot like SL … Nothing to do but raid log and collect welfare gear for alts.
sorry dude BFA was good , SL is terrible true
Before MOP, the game was very wet and messy.
After MOP, the game was still a little wet but much cleaner and better-smelling, and it eventually dried up.
THey both are pretty bad .
SL is a case of this
Players : BfA sucks there is no way Blizz could do any worse
Blizz : Hold our
The exact same thing I’m doing now and have been doing the same thing since Wrath
I skipped MOP because I hated the theme and the story didn’t interest me. Skipped WOD for the same reason. Skipped BFA and most of SL for the same reason.
there is no way dudeee , they can’t do worse than SL
i trust in Blizzard iam 1-1 expansion so they still have my trust , i don’t play this game since 15 years
Blizz : Hold our

A couple reasons why
but the big reason is “you don’t know what you have till it’s gone”.
MoP had a lot of things going for it, best class design, best PvP balance, beautiful zones with plenty to do.
Patches released at a good pace (until post SoO) and one of the best raids in the game still (ToT).
Was it perfect? No, dailies were a grind, the story wasn’t the best (but still leagues better then what we have had the last few expansions) and of course SoO lasted too long.
Overall I still hold it as my favorite expansion. It is the only expansion where I had a sub for the entire time.
It was great.
Do the farm.
Do the dailies (meh).
Do the raid. Raid design was fantastic.
Work on challenge modes.
Work on Brawlers Guild.
For me MoP was the last great expansion; all that has followed is sub-par at best.
The Timeless Isle! Loved that zone.
MoP was fun. Community was lively and the content was nice. CM’s were super fun near the end of the expac. Some of my best memories for sure.
I spent most of the time world pvping tho . WPVP was really big in my old server.
MoP was the pinnacle of BG’s. It was crazy.
First seasons i did world boss and bgs
Midway through mop i did a lot of twinking and farmed legacy raids for gold
Last season of mop i did bgs, rbgs for elite set, farmed warscouts and warbringers for rep and gold, world pvped on timeless isle, farmed frogs for heavenly golden serpent, got legendary cloak, did my first ever mythic raiding because everyone overgeared siege and got socket heirloom weapons and did a ton of archeology as well as meta raid achievements for mounts and pet battling/celestial tournament prep
Never had more fun in a videogame than during siege of orgrimmar patch
