My guild said if I want to raid season 3 I have to go DPS, since apparently too many people want to heal. To be clear, I always heal raids. I am a 0 addon user, I click to DPS(I have mouse over macros to heal), I don’t even have a DPS meter.
So I am torn between demo warlock which I feel I can click well, but she’s only 635ilvl right now, I haven’t raided on her since the final raid of Dragonflight. OR I stick to this character which is my most geared, and go Elemental. But I have no idea how to play Elemental, and find it a bit too complicated to play properly by clicking. So I was thinking going single button assist?
1 button gameplay is not viable in any group setting, in my opinion. It ranges from a 15% to 30% dps loss over a normal rotation.
Are you mythic raiding? No?
Then its viable.

If you are raiding heroic up to AoTC, any class can viably dps well enough with the one button rotation. On average you’ll parse green which isn’t anything great but good enough to heroic raid with, especially after a couple months when gear ilvl is maximized.
I dont play a lock but leveling one up the other week even after all the hero talents (Playing Destro) it seems like the One Button Rotation would fit lock better then Ele. If Ele dps is Farseer again there are more GCDs youd lose dps on with the OBR. For example: Primordial Wave + Ancestral Swiftness + Lavaburst is usually created as a macro together so you can fire it off with 1 button, but with the One-Button Rotation they would all be fired seperately with a longer global cooldown between each, losing a bit of dps in the process.
Clicking suffers a significant penalty already, I’d strongly suggest something where ability clicks are at a 100% consistent interval because you’re also going to have to manage having enough available attention to avoid standing in things and other mechanics while also clicking buttons. The hard casts and random priority changes of elemental make it really hard to raid with as a clicker.
I’d be looking for a new guild where I could heal.

Well if I do 1 button i’d just be mashing my 1 key on my keyboard vs clicking with the mouse which is how I usually do my rotation.
Yeah that’s why I often felt like Ele was too complicated for me, especially as a clicker lol
Destro is the best for 1 button out of all classes.
As of a few days ago, afflock was good to.
Ele is horrible
All rogues are amongst the worse
Balance is terrible
Those 2 lock specs do very well, and will net you blue parses
