How upset would you be if~

The next expansion removed everything off-world from Azeroth?

Do you mean if they removed access to all of the content that was off-world from the entire game…like TBC, WoD, Shadowlands, and parts of Legion?

I think most people would be pretty upset. I don’t even know why they would ever consider doing that.

This emoji is getting to be a regular post with me.

Yep, all of it. Anything that doesn’t take place on Azeroth. Do you think they could make a compelling story out of why it’s now unavailable?

No. And either way, players would view it as needlessly removing content.

What if, like, someone outside surrounded the planet in a magic barrier that fizzled out portal travel?!

Would someone like A’dal care enough to try and free us?

Why would that apply to old content? Even when they had current events effect old zones we usually have the option to revert to their original states (except with Cata).

There is no reasonable justification to remove access to entire x-packs.

Maybe MAYBE if Blizzard had good writers, they might be able to pull off an expansion where cosmic forces prevent portals from working thus cutting us off from the outer planes AND it resolves itself during that expansion and not carry over into the next one, I would be ok with that except for the issue of…

…the writers would never be able to pull it off.

Yeah, yeah! That’s the idea - and if an entire expansion was too much… what if it was just for a raid tier?

It would be. Might be better if it resolves itself around the middle of the expansion. Like we figure out what happened and the second half is resolving it. But honestly, vast majority of people would hate it.

I think that is an understatement. Telling players that they could no longer access entire x-packs that they purchased years ago would probably lead to an all-out revolt and mass exodus.

Remember when Destiny 2 removed entire planets, including the main questline and whole previously paid expansions and DLC? Ah… good times…

Completely agree. I like new ideas and try to see if they can work, but this is not one of them. :stuck_out_tongue:

Considering TBC is my favorite expansion of all time, and arguably the oldest untouched content in this game, I’d be pretty steamed.

Lets not do the Destiny Content Vault in WoW, okay.

That would be like admitting they were turning the game into a tiny hardcore lobby game.

Orcs and draenei just can’t log in? Warlocks lose all their spells because they can’t access the Twisting Nether, or just the ones that actually summon something?

This is not a practical suggestion.

Would you leave?

Because it could lead to a very strong impression and show there is someone out there capable of disrupting magic on an extremely large scale and would be an even larger threat than deathwing on a world-wide scale.

I say we should go for it!

It’s not meant to be a suggestion. It’s meant to be a “what if”. Just go with it~
