The anticlimatic end he met in Uldaman painted himself to me as weak, but then again I remembered he is a Titan Keeper. I thought his kind was supposed to be extremely strong.
Kinda sad for him to have met his end vs 5 murder hobos.

It’s likely that each titan construct, keepers included, required constant maintenance and a network of allies to keep themselves in tip-top shape. They aren’t “Human” or “Flesh” so they don’t naturally heal.
Archaedas, along with Uldaman, was a really rundown titan facility. Enough that it was invaded by Troggs and other ne’er-do-wells who were able to run roughshod over them. By the time the adventurers poked their heads into Uldaman the place was on it’s last legs and about to bow out.
Another possibility is that Archaedas had just been woken from thousands of years of hibernation, and may have been rendered weaker as a result.
Of course the actual reason is that Blizzard has retconned Archaedas to be much more important and powerful than his original context in Vanilla Uldaman implied, as the presentation of the titans’ work became less mysterious and more grand in scale since his introduction.
While true, he was also a 20 foot tall dude made of stone swinging a hammer that would turn a person into paste if he actually landed a hit. Regardless of altered context, he should’ve been strong as hell.
Not much more than any similarly sized creature that we were fighting in groups or even solo back then. Just about any mountain giant, ancient, or huge animal like kodo should be about as physically strong.
The fact is if we were going by real logic then no number of murder hobos would stand a chance against just about any giant dungeon or raid boss as presented by game mechanics, any more than a couple dozen mice could realistically take down Mike Tyson.
But what if the mice had magic?
From memory he was only made into a titan keeper with Chronicles. Beforehand he was just some random titan watcher iirc.
It is just a sad case of blizzard retconing something onto a previously established and deceased character in order to explain who they are and why they are there. Blizzard wasn’t that keen on making massive story lines when it came to vanilla WoW outside of a select few. He was just a random boss in a random dungeon.
Not only that, but he was dormant for ages. So I guess it was basically just wear and tear.
