There are no more Premades in AV…
There are in WSG though, and they’re absolutely earning more honor per hour than you are pugging AV.
Ahh ya for sure, but so what? You do not have to rush to R14 either… Classic is not going anywhere. Play where you have fun and eventually you rise.
I guess, but if that’s your strategy then why not gear up first in Raid with some good friends and then find out who in your guild is interested in PVP and form a group of friends who’s already good at working together in an organized way.
As a result of that you already have gear, you have coordination and in addition the biggest perk of all; a group of friends you can grow with in PVP.
To each their own in that regard I do nto think there is “best” way. My firends and I make parties of 5, and we PvP as we level.
I cannot just go 60 without PvPing… I can take so much PvE…hah
You don’t have to ever get to R14 either - there’s as good or better raid gear that will come out eventually, that takes far less to earn. We can argue endlessly about whether or how much skill R14 takes, but it definitely takes a ton of time and work.
run to the boss like you did when av launched?
That wasn’t most of us.
That was a few guys in great gear, epic mounts, speed enchants, and consumables. They wanted exalted rep. When anyone responded with lets’s get some towers and lt’s/ cmmndrs/horde, they responded with :
“This is for rep. You guys can get honor next week.”
Most of them, with their gear and mounts, were gone in a few days. A small number of them stuck around and made the first premades of the legendary Drek pulls.
Most of the people left here were not involved in the successful fast pulls.
So it makes no sense to berate this group of people with -
because they never did it.
No, for the first few days it absolutely was most of us rushing Drek and skipping everything else. That was the meta until people started hitting exalted. The high level premades with mount speed, consumables, etc. weren’t skipping straight to Drek…they were killing all the LTs too. That meta was a factor of (1) everyone wanted rep and (2) Horde didn’t yet have their recall trinkets with no CD.
This ‘alliance’ player’s plan is correct, in the sense that in involves facing us head on. Figuring out what we may want to do and sabotaging that. Being bloodthirsty. Do not AFK.
The alliance faction has plenty of decent pvp’ers. But it does not field a team. So you lose.
I don’t think there is a solution. You will only start to win PUG AV matches if Horde starts going for the faster win.
Absolutelly, the way there are many. The reason why you wnat to reach R14 is also debatable there are good and bad reasons as you say and just for the gear is not a good reason.
But eventually no matter the way or the reason teh common denominator is that it takes lots of time and consistent effort throughout that time.
The strategy, back in vanilla, was to defend balinda with everyone for as long as possible. let horde take stonehearth and alliance would take snowfall.
Once horde had stonehearth there was much less resistance and galv, iceblood could taken. The key is to keep defending balinda from snowfall though.
Well we need to continue spreading the word, many people still try to go after IBGY when that fails stop fighting except like 10-15, and then wait for SP to be lost so they can go South and kill LT’s…
This sums up why alliance are generally worse at BGs than horde. That and they don’t want to put in the time, they want to avoid rather than fight the enemy, and they would rather bite each other’s heels than back each other up.
Thank you for your insight level 120 paladin
Well I am happy to say that this worked a few times with Alliance PUG.
There are two key Criteria that make this work.
1- All of the Alliance Team fights (with 1-3 true AFKers) and no one ghosting or standing somewhere not fighting.
2- Cooperation & Responsiveness. This is Crucial to Win AV now. When people cooperate inform one another Call Incoming s and Respond to them. Transfer to Defend DB and Graveyards as needed and push when needed all together.
I just hope more and more people wills tart changing their ways and meet the criteria. It is that simple really.
A big reason premades worked its because we all used riding boost gear, which was the only way to meet horde in fields of strife and not in stonehearth outpost.
the problem with this strategy is that the map is MASSIVELY IMBALANCED. now that the horde have had plenty of time knowing how we would win in premades they know they only need one thing to counter and come back. 40 rush whatever obj we are trying to get or cap. they don’t have to defend the best horde def is going offensive on our offense.
Only way alli will win
- somehow get to ibgy with enough healers to sustain the massive wave of horde defense
if this happens then the game is massively different
It almost sounds like a horde plan.
I just might work!
Is this a joke?
Our entire strategy from the beginning is attacking while defending. Something the alliance have not figured out yet.
The other thing alliance haven’t figured our is to defend the bridge. It never happens. But that’s partially the fault of Blizzard for screwing up the GY rez order, which is huge.
