How to Watch Apple TV+ on a Fire TV Television

I recently purchased a Toshiba model 43LF621U21 from BestBuy. I see that FOUNDATION is being produced and shown on Apple TV+. Being an old fan of Isaac Azimov and having just a few years ago reread all 20 or so of the books in the entire robot/empire/foundation series, ordered Apple TV from Amazon and installed it on my TV. I opened Apple TV and attempted to open Apple TV+. The screen indicated that I could not order Apple TV+ from there but had to have ordered it from an Apple device previously.

The only Apple devices I have are a old iPod Touch and a old iPad. When I say old iPad I mean VERY old. It’s running 32-bit and version 9.3.5. I tried to update the operating system but 9.3.5 is the best I can get. I understand that only the newest operating systems can get Apple TV+.

I have a friend that is sending me her “old” iPad on which she’s installed iPad OS 15.

While I understand I’ll be able to dl Apple TV+ on it, I’m confused on how I should sign into the new iPad to begin with. Should I be using my gmail account (which is what my Prime Video, etc recognize on my TV) or my iCloud account which is what my old iPad was using?

I’m confused to say the least.

Thanks in advance,

Taka

Turns out a friend recently got a new iPad. She graciously gave me her old one. Reset to factory settings. Logged in using my iCloud account. Downloaded Apple TV and the Apple TV+. Moved on to TV. Something must have gone on behind the scenes. Applt TV+ asked for my credentials. Voilà. FOUNDATION.

I guess that’s the only way.
