Here is my tutorial on how to configure the New UI.
(The video is safe for work and kids - just have the warring due to raid nights.)

Why isn’t my keyboard operating my buttons. I cannot hit F1 and choose an enemy or hit 1 and fire an arrow.

First thing to do is look at keybinding see if they are still correct.

So go to options > Keybindings > Targeting look for f1-f5 keys if they are not associated with anything they were associated with target self, target party member 1,2,3,4.

If you have an addon like elvui, ctmod, bartender or something else you may have to check their particular settings.

If you aren’t using any of those addons the easiest thing to do is turn off all addons and look to see if that fixes your issue if it does then one of the addons you have is breaking the keybindings and you will have to go 1 by 1 to find out which is messing it up.
