I’ve never used raise ally because the only times it comes up, I’m in the middle of combat and don’t have time to figure out how it works.
I can’t click on the character on the raid list and click the spell. So how does it work?
30 RP target body profit
You need 30 runic power to use it. And if you’re going to click on someone on the raid list, you will need to use a mouseover macro.
/cast [@mouseover] Raise Ally

Step one) have buddy die.
Step two) gain some runic power
Step three) Click on dead buddy and press raise ally BECAUSE THIS FIGHT AINT OVER AND HOW DARE HE FLOP OVER LIKE AN OMELETTE!!!

So without the mouseover macro, you have to find the body and click on it?
I don’t have a mouse over macro so I click the portrait, but if you have it even better
No dead body finding.
See black/dead on the raid frame, use the mouseover macro and with enough enough runic power, hover pointer over raid frame and use ability, no clicking/selecting involved.
I’d also expand the macro listed above to:
/cast [@mouseover,help,dead] Raise Ally; Raise Ally
This will allow you to still raise someone by selection without the mouseover. However, it prioritizes what you currently mouseover if the conditions are met. It will also still raise a selected dead ally if you happen to mouseover something that is still alive.

Because it’s an instant rez. Everyone else has to cast theirs unless it’s a soul stone put on the person that dies. It’s the price we pay.
I’d much prefer they were instant for everyone and they remove the RP cost.
You can click the raid frame and then press your battle rez. The macro just makes it faster as it does both actions in one click.

But isn’t Soul Stone can be used as a Life Insurance rather than a Brez? It’s kinda both the Brez and Reincarnate baked together in one ability.

But like why do we need to use 30 RP to Brez someone? I know it’s instant but the fact that it has a cost is just throwing me off man.

Yes, soul stone can in that way, but that requires pre-knowledge that a certain person is going to die, like say you sacrifice someone for some mechanic that goes on in a boss you can pre-soul stone that person. But without that knowledge its going to come with a personal dps loss.
The 30 RP makes it so that it can only be cast in combat since that is the only time we are generating RP. Plus it’s the only instant rez out there. Druid brez has a cast time, for example (1.6 sec cast time on my feral druid).
If it didn’t have a RP cost then we could use it out of combat and it’d be better than any healer rez since it’s instant cast. I don’t think it makes sense for us to have the best out of combat rez in the game (or any out of combat rez for that matter).
I’m fine with our rez requiring us to be in combat, including having the RP cost. The RP cost could be lowered, but it should still be there to prevent us from using our rez out of combat.
Healers could always rez out of combat. The trade off for having our rez instacast is having it on 10 minute cooldown. 10 Minutes is a very long time. If that’s not long enough, I’d rather have it be 15 minute CD or even 20 minute.
But then again… They added a reset lust mechanic which also resets the brez as well.
… and I recall you can also brez a number of things at a time per boss encounter. Regardless if the Brez is on CD or not.
30 RP cost is just stupid. It costs a 5 RP more than FS. It cost as much as epidemic. It cost as much as Deadliest Death Coil. I really don’t like how it throws me off and when my RL asks for a Brez… I have to wait and make RP before rezzing a dead healer as I have to risk my RL asking me of what I’m doing.
3 RUNES to rez someone. Ugh.

Usually the RL asks for a Bress when I’m on that sweet spot that I have no RP nor Runes and have to wait for stuff to come back. Gotta love the Famine part of the rotation
