How to use Overwolf?

Add on support will be removed from the twitch app in the near future and transitioned to Overwolf. With a new expansion on the horizon many add ons will constantly need updated. However I have no idea how to use Overwolf. Does anyone know how to even use this new platform?

Yes I know I can install them manually, and I know how, but Im looking to learn how to use Overwolf

Edit: Apparently the twitch app is still working for most people, just not me. Edited to reflect that

Wait, I literally, not ten seconds ago updated two addons using the Twitch app…

In my client the addon section for wow has been removed and when I try to manually enter it it tells me that unless I have a time machine this content is no longer available

It’s a problem with your Twitch App… it’s working fine for me.

It’s pretty easy:

  • Start Windows
  • Open control panel/settings
  • Open “Apps”
  • Find Overwolf
  • Click “Uninstall”
  • Wait for the uninstaller to finish deleting this pos from your computer
  • Download Wowup
  • Update/download addons from there.

The Curse app isn’t even available until the 20th.

Overwolf still exists? Is it still laggy?

Mine has, at the top:

Following Browse | Esports Music Games Mods

Under Mods, I see World of Warcraft. I click on that and all my mods are there, as is a Get More Addons tab.

I’m able to access my addons through Twitch still.

Don’t put misinformation out like “as of today all addon support was removed from the twitch app” when you have literally no evidence of that besides your own technical difficulties lol.

Maybe double check before you cause panic on the forums.

Try Ajour or WoWup instead.

The Twitch app should still work through November. It sounds like a problem with your particular install of the Twitch client.

Same. I’ve been hearing it’s getting removed though soon.

On November 17th.

Double checked, Triple checked. Not working. Contacted Overwolf and Twitch. Cant find any answers, assumed it happened today since we know its gonna happen “soon”. Reinstalled Twitch, still tells me that wow addons are no longer available through the app

Give Wowup a try. It is really is easy to use. :+1:

Give it another try. Sometimes it goes a bit wonky. You may need to kill it entirely and restart it.

Thanks for editing your post, at least.

From what I’ve heard about Overwolf, shouldn’t there be a “scan your computer for malware” step?

It’s not released yet. And you don’t use it. You use Wowup.io
