How to tell the name of someone's mount?

Somebody on the forums said that when you inspect someone the mount comes up as a “buff”. Could someone elaborate, so I know where to look?

Also, there are times when one the mounts I craft sells – and while I’m at the mailbox and I see that mount standing next to me.

Sometimes I ask the person, but I was wondering if there was anyway to tell if that was the mount that I crafted?

In one’s bags the icon says, “crafted by x.” I was wondering if each and mount has a tag associated with it after it’s been used.

I think they mean you can see the “buff” that’s applied to the player when they’re on the mount. Usually the buff’s name is also the name of the mount.

And no I’m pretty sure once a crafted mount is collected the original crafter tag is gone forever… or at the very least it’s impossible to see after collected, but I kinda doubt Blizzard tracks it.

Click on the person and when your target frames come up either above or below their health bar on the target window will show all the buffs the person has and also what the name of the mount they are on is if you hover over it’s icon.

Once the person “learns” the mount you can’t see who created it.

On the buffs under the person you target’s portrait, you’ll see the type of mount but not who created it. I eyeball these all the time when I see a mount that I am not familiar with and then check my mount list to see how and where to get it.

Get yourself “mountspy” addon and click on random person with awesome mount going by and boom. Right there in the chat you’ll have that person’s name/that person’s mount name/where the mount coming from/vendor that sells it or which boss drops it etc. Even if the person is going past you at full speed, you just need one left click on that person.
