I wanna roll a Horde toon on a new server. Which to choose? With blizzard hiding their true numbers in shame, how do you tell which server is worth the time investment?
I have looked at a couple WoW server population pages but their criteria seems to include dead accts. (One said they measure anyone who has ever posted on the AH or is in a guild with someone who has ever posted on the AH.)
I could, i suppose, check out EVERY forum page for the servers and see how active they are, but they all seem dead of just guild recruitments. Any Advice?
You can cross-realm most things that matter and CRZ is applied to most outdoor zones so individual server population and faction balance aren’t as important as they used to be. Just pick one with a healthy-looking economy.
I think the only thing that really matters is finding a good guild… Then transferring to that server with them.
I generally check the auction house to figure that out
Dear God…why would you format your post like this?
OP hates us mobile users, that’s the only answer…
Go for full or high pop servers any other realm is dead or dying, and trying to find a decently active guild will be like pulling teeth with a nailclipper.
wowprogress…com click the US drop down menu for realms. You can also click population by faction. A healthy horde server will be 10k + tier 21 and above. And now tier 22. I usually shoot for 7-11k . I know the AH economy and chat will be good enough for many activities. To many people would be like EU draenor at 43k and Illidan. LAG fest unless you got the best top end computer and internet.
I have no idea how this ended up posting like this… what a god awful mess lol
Not necessarily. There’s four or five decent raiding guilds on my server (Horde-side) that are always recruiting, and we have a “low” population.
Still, if you’re looking for a good amount of choices, a medium- or high-population realm is probably the way to go. I think you can even sort the realm list by population. The answer is in the game client interface, right at the beginning. ![]()
The WoW populations havent been changed on the log in page in years. Not sure i trust it anymore lol.
