What would be the conditional for avoid targeting dead bodies?
/cleartarget [dead][noharm][mod:ctrl]
/targetenemy [noharm][noexists][mod:ctrl]That will drop a target if it is dead, if you can't harm it, or if you hold the control key down. Then it will jump to the nearest target in your forward cone if your target cannot be harmed, does not exist, or you have the control key down.I use something like that in a macro chain that controls my targeting.
But if you do have a target, live or dead, /tar by itself won't necessarily change to a new target.
You need to clear the target first then acquire a new target.
See above for good examples.

I just figured it out myself. It's viable through a simple conditional. Now I can spam the macro in m+ dg and instantly target only alive SoG when it's up otherwise wont affect my current target. Thank you though.
Yawso, what did you do to ignore the dead bodies in your macro?
Necro’ing to provide the answer. The following macro targets Fen Creepers but will ignore them if they are dead.
/tar fen creeper
/cleartarget [dead]
Doesn’t ignore them, it clears your target if your target is dead (regardless of what that target might be).
Nice, thank you Azzuri, exactly what I was looking for.
Elvenbane, if it performs exactly the same functionally as what was trying to be accomplished, then you also know you are being unnecessarily pedantic.
Except it doesn’t. If the game decides the Fen Creeper to target is a dead one, even if there’s an alive one nearby, it’ll keep targeting that mob and clearing your target over and over until other conditions change to make the game pick a different Fen Creeper for you.
/cleartarget [dead]
/tar [harm, exists] fen creeper
Just tested with an alive fen creeper next to a dead one. Pressed Esc to clear target, then used macro below. The game consistently targeted the alive one, even if I was closer to or facing the dead one. Added in a skull icon, too. Works great.
/cleartarget
/tar fen creeper
/cleartarget [dead]
/script SetRaidTarget(“target”,8)
I tried this and the /script SetRaidTarget(“target”,8) part opens a lua error box with no errors. Works only if this is removed.
Because it’s not wrapped in code tags so the forums changed the quotes to smartquotes. That said, you can replace the script with /tm 8
