This has been popping up since Tuesday “You have a profession tool that can be equipped into a profession equipment slot.” I have clicked on everything possible (including just X-ing it out) but it pops back after relogging and reloading UI.
Is this…
A) a new Blizzard Bug to wait out
B) me having to buy a reagent bag and put it in the empty reagent bag slot
C) Something else I’m totally overlooking
Thanks, you all have a nice day!

Do you have a fishing pole in your bags?

Stuff like this and the incessant reminders that i have professional points that need to be spent are super annoying and partly to blame for why people are frustrated with being unable to respec their points, all too often they’re done on the fly just to get the notifications to shut the hell up.

Nope, no pole. I do have a toon that has a reagent bag equipped in it’s bag slot that doesn’t get the pop-up. When I remove the bag the pop-up doesn’t reappear. I just have so much bag space I don’t need the auto-deposit in reagent bag option for all my other toons. Maybe I should just buy a cheap vendor herb bag or something…
Probably a dumb thought, but I only ever get that when I have the fishing pole, mining axe, skinning knife or reagent bag in my regular bags, and it goes away when I equip it. If you don’t have any equipment in any of your regular bags, then sounds like a bug.
Okay, now I understand why Audreeana asked about the pole thanks to Shazin’s added comment. My jewelcrafter had her jewelbox in her normal inventory. I opened her jewelcraft window and there was empty slots one of which I put her jewelbox and the pop-up went away. I don’t keep up on game outside of the game itself so the empty profession slots was a new one on me. Won’t let me put mining pick in a mining slot, so I guess it’s just the main professions blacksmith, leatherwork, etc.
Correction: There are (3) empty slots; one for a tool and two for “accessories” whatever those are. I could put my blue WoD mining pick in the tool slot but not a white “hammer pick” I had. Guess this is just one of those “you figure it out” Blizzard deals.
These are items crafters can make and what item they are depends on the craft. There are hats, outfits, baskets, picks, wands, quills, tools, etc.
Going through the main quest line will give you one freebie in the Ruby Life pools area. I would be surprised if those things aren’t for sale in the auction house, or you could request someone craft them in the request system. That will likely be snapped up if you have the materials as people try to get the base quota of 3 in, especially if you’re not looking for ‘top tier’ items and just something to fill the slot.
This happened to me…the solution was to look in your spellbook - if you have one outlined in light - put it on your toolbar - you can use your second row also - just get them on a action bar and it should go away - good luck
That worked for me, thanks.
THANK YOU SO MUCH. This damn notification was driving me crazy and I did not even think about that stupid pole.
