How to stop RMT, the easy way

It’s simple.

If you detect gold buying, take all of their gold and give them a 2 week ban. Should also take all their bank materials.

The ban means almost nothing to them but if they lose all the gold they will think twice about gold buying.

The problem now is Blizzard lets them keep the gold and just gives them bans which does nothing.

Would prefer the Jay and Silent Bob method of buying plane tickets and beating up said those who engage in rmt.

Crazy smart idea you came up with on the day that they sent out a massive ban wave giving everyone 2 week bans and taking all their gold lmao

You permanently ban them first offense.

Guildie today said they are banned for 2 weeks, had all the remaining gold removed as well as any items they acquired. They say a friend sent them gold to get started which they spent on low level stuff. Cannot verify where said friend sourced the gold originally.

LMAO, According to your logic should be better if Blizzard blacklist their NU metal playlist on Winamp :joy:

what’s RMT? Let me ask google…Which RMT do you refer to? Sorry, I’m a noob and have plenty of acronyms in my line of work that I have to remember and don’t have time to know the ones in my social life

  • Registered Massage Therapist: A title used by people who are registered with the Canadian Massage Therapists’ Association (CMTO). The title “Massage Therapist” is also equivalent and can be used with the letters “MT”.

  • Respiratory Muscle Training: A treatment for speech and voice disorders, as well as swallowing disorders.

  • Radioactive Microsphere Therapy: A treatment for neuroendocrine tumors.

  • Random Matrix Theory: A subject of mathematics.

  • Recovered-Memory Therapy: A type of therapy.

  • Relational Models Theory: A theory of interpersonal relationships.

  • National Union of Rail, Maritime and Transport Workers: A British trade union that covers the transport sector.

Real Money Transaction

If you were to google “rmt wow" that would have given you the exact answer you needed.
Would have actually taken you less time to learn this acronym than to type out that whole post.

If you can prove they bought gold without a doubt then it should be a lifetime ban

You make an example out of a big streamer, like Sodapoppin who got caught red handed in HC, and I bet gold buying falls off a cliff overnight

It’s different when it means you can never play WoW again

They will never do that, as people with extra money to burn could potentially be people who whale in their retail cash shops.

They won’t punish their billboards either.

:moneybag::moneybag::dollar::dollar::dollar:All about that money :dollar::dollar::dollar::moneybag::moneybag:

I like it when people finally figure this out. That is exactly the type of player Blizzard wants. The cash shop is the cash cow. Classic is just a little bone they throw to the players. Retail is the focus, because Retail has the cash shop. Micro-transactions dwarf subs in terms of their profits. And someone buying gold is probably very likely to partake in the cash shop as well. A million of those players make them more money than 10 million ‘regular players’ who just pay a sub.

blizzard isn’t stupid :expressionless: they know how to stop RMT
they choose not to
they profit from it in a variety of ways
thems the facts

Blizzard doesn’t want to ban anyone at all. Why don’t people get that? And since that is the only solution to ending RMT, it’s not going away.

Umm no the real way to stop RMT. Ban the player , IP, credit card, name, anything tied to the account so they can’t play again without some drastic measures. Maybe for 1 year. Second offence is perma. That is how you deal with it. But blizzard does a 3 day ban, too scared to lose players even if it is, cheaters, hackers, bots, RMTers.
