How to spend honor before level 60?

Just got to cap at level 55, and wasting a couple thousand points at level 57 feels bad.

You are going to waste it either way , so better get something rather than nothing

I mean wasting as in not getting any more, since i am capped.
I am looking for something to exchange those points for.

I’d say just get used to it, because before long at 60 you’ll be honor capped, and locked behind renown anyway.

Eh, too bad then. Thanks for the reply.

There’s the old pvp vendor in orgrimmar/sw from BFA, where all the legacy gear is, I haven’t checked yet but you may be able to buy that gear with honor even though it’s useless. Having this same problem

Perhaps you can buy transmogs?

Honor is worthless if you aren’t buying lvl 60 gear, all previous pvp gear sets are bought with marks of honor instead.

Those use Marks of Honor IIRC, not the Honor currency.
But I’ll check them out.

The corrupted aspirant one may still use honor since it’s from BFA

i levled a shaman in pvp after 9.0, but we didnt get spendable honor till SL released and i guess they gave me the honor that i earned as that character is sitting on 20k spendable honor, at level 50… i guess ill just level them and then buy all the pvp gear i can right away at 60.

EDIT: well i guess thats wrong and Altaholic screwed up as it was showing me i had 20k on that character, but i dont… so nevermind…

Yeah, I looked at this yesterday, since I wondered the same. Corrupted Aspirant is the only pre 60 honor spend as far as I can tell. Maybe you can get some transmog out of that, or hell even an upgrade if you’re in dire need in some slots?

I’m in the same spot, capped at 15k and feels like a waste doing bgs but its still more fun that pve, sooooo… /shrug

Yeah, I just ignored the lost honor, and moved along.
Level cap PvP feels bad though, in comparison to leveling PvP.

don’t spend Honor before 60

do some BGs while leveling, reach 15000 cap, spend it all on PvP gear at 60 as a starting point on your gearing journey

through Threads you can get RN 7 very quickly and start upgrading them to 184s

I have been level 60 for a few days on my hunter and haven’t reached renown 7 yet, I’m at 5. If you don’t have much time and really enjoy PvP, it’s not that trivially easy to get renown 7.

I also don’t “do some BGs while leveling”. I “do some questing” in-between PvP queues, which are crazy fast now (1-3 minutes). I got to cap without ever leaving or completing Bastion on the hunter. I chose Venthyr, And I have yet to step on the other zones (Maldraxxus/Ardenweald) on him.

The real issue here is getting to honor cap at level 55-56, and having nothing to spend on, wasting loads of honor until finally getting to level 60.

I even went back to SW to see the BfA gear, but it’s all ilvl 68. All my chars are at least ilvl 100 overall, with the minimum slot, usually trinkets, being ilvl 82.

Level cap PvP is also way too bursty, and has a few other important issues.
I’ll just focus on 51-60 PvP then, and wait for the next season to see if level 60 PvP has been fixed.

yes it is

it’s literally a few quests after you hit 60 after Threads, you do an intro Torghast quest, you could do it while queueing for BGs

if you don’t have time that’s fine but that doesn’t make it any less easy to accomplish, you just choose not to prioritize it

questing gear is better than any of the PvP gear you acquire from vendors outside of 60, i’m really not sure why you would want to do this?

I did save Baine, cleared a few table missions, completed the mirror network intro quests and completed 2 callings.
Not at renown 7 yet.

Not really. And leveling gear does not matter much for the leveling BGs and after reaching level 60 and getting a full PvP set due to being honor capped.

Hey there, interesting that this thread is still going.

I see you’re having some trouble with renown, don’t worry! I changed from necrolord to Venthyr two days ago and I’m at…11?12? You won’t get to the current cap by simply doing the quests like we did the first time though, no you have to do those because the quests award renown at completion but ALSO run content! Heroic and mythic dungeons as well as mythic + and possibly even BGs (wins) will occasionally provide a renown token that is automatically consumed. They aren’t a 100% chance but it feels like a solid drop chance.

Best way Ive found is PvP vendor in Stormwind sells BFA corrupted gear for Honor that you can vendor for gold. It’s not much but it’s not wasted honor.
