How to solve three class problems at once (by causing uncountable more problems)

Right now the game is suffering from three deep rooted problems.

  1. There is no holy DPS caster.
  2. Shadow priests are still heavily light themed thanks to being stuck on the Priest class.
  3. There’s no way to really get the WC3 Priestess of the Moon experience.

I have a proposal that would solve all three of these at once.

First, we replace Shadow Priest with Lunar Priest. Lunar priest is an Elune themed DPS priest who use bows and wands to auto attack on top of their spell casting ability. To make this work all existing bows will now have Int and be usable by priests. Guns and Crossbows are unchanged.

With the added auto attacks, lunar priests won’t need a “You may now DPS” stance like Shadowform, and Holy/Disc priests just won’t get auto-shoot so their wands and bows remain stat sticks.

This isn’t a Survival hunter/Combat rogue situation though. Shadow spec will remain in the game attached to the new Witch class.

In addition to Shadow, Witch class will have Voodoo healing spec and a necromancer DPS spec, both of which are frequently requested classes in their own right. All of these specs will have a consistent spooky theme that doesn’t encroach on Warlock’s fell green aesthetics by focusing on darkness and spirts rather than fel and fire.

When Witch is introduced, all existing priests will have the option to either swap their character to being a Witch or remain a Priest, so your shadow priest who went all in on the spooky aesthetic isn’t suddenly stranded as being all light all the time.

You lost me at making another elf themed class.

How would witch be Elf themed?

Talking about the other thing, obviously.

And until it can be explained how a necromancer would actually work, gonna be hard to support that as well.

It’s a far cry from being a DPS class but I just use spell dmg boosting gear on my disc aligned Priest in classic. Fat Holy Fire :fire: dmg o3o.

That’s not a class, that’s a specialization.

One you don’t have to use.

Yes, and I am tired of a specialization being elf themed.

Elves get everything. They dont need more.

Cata Disc Priest was the epitome of Disc.

Better suggestion: Add a 4th ranged caster DPS spec to Paladins called Inquisitor.

Look, I’m sorry your particular brand of fantasy racism isn’t shared by the developers, but I refuse to take that into account in my wild hypotheticals.

If you want a game that’s anti-elf go play Elder Scrolls.

Problem 4 this idea solves: Paladins trying tying to overshadow priests at everything.

I dont want a game thats anti elf.

I want a game that isnt only elf.

Just had multiple elf expansions. Getting ready to have multiple more elf expansions.

I mean, we are just priests but better =)

Don’t care. It’s my hypothetical and I can do what I want.

No you’re half-trained priests who fill the gaps with blunt objects.

We are priests who were then further trained in martial combat so that we could support our allies on the front lines better :stuck_out_tongue:

Uther was a priest who was further trained in martial combat.

Unless you’re a hundred years old under that hood, you got the clip notes version of priest training to make time for the blunt object training.

It’s bad enough Hunters have a Sentinel spec that’s pure Elune crap that most races don’t give two kerfluffles about. We don’t need an entire spec of that bs.

Maybe stop getting nasty when people disagree. Geebus, calm down.
