While I’m all for opening covenants and removing penalties for swapping, I don’t think this is going to save subscription numbers for wow.
I think the devs need to pull off something bigger to bring back and retain players.
How do we save warcraft from itself? Ideas? What would it take to bring you back to Azeroth?

Interactive Movie method conveyed story.
And make sure not to lose the player.
Basically, SHOW, don’t tell.
And a single story from Vanilla to Shadowlands would help along the way.
Far too many story threads left unended or unresolved in meaningfully realistic ways.

Just play the Damn Game or not…SIMPLE~
Lack of player retention over long term subscription goals says you’re wrong.
Make better graphic, animations and combat, veterans are bored of playing the same gameplay for 17 years. And create end game contents for casual players
These should be realistic to make and not too much for the next expansion.

The only thing they can do rn to save WoW is in 10.0.
Remove systems, make mythic plus so you can get mythic raiding gear at 15 without changing difficulties. Create a more balanced pvp front where gear doesn’t matter. Work more on customization and maybe player housing.
Might seem like a lot but downsizing system developers and hiring more art developers.
I’ve always said blizz needs to push the things people like the most and fall into it. No matter what expansion people always praise blizz for the zones and artwork. So give us more of that with added customization at a higher rate.
No more couple races at a time bs we are getting now. Every .5 patches either all the allied races or all the original races gets new options until we are caught up to most modern mmos.

Take a look at the people who are remaining and actually love the game. Everyone I meet has been playing this game since 15+ years ago. I’m the only one I have known to of started In BFA.
Learning the game took me 3 years before I became semi-competent at the game. Make sure that content allows people to explore the game at a novice level onward. It was so harsh to start this game.
I think right now would be a good new player experience. But It’s still a steep learning curve. I honestly don’t know how to draw In more people of my generation. Nearly everyone I meet Is old In this game. /:

New player races and new player experience and the actual chance to get in past the toxic community reception for new people is pretty bad of late.

" make mythic plus so you can get mythic raiding gear at 15 without changing difficulties"
Why? M+ at a 15 is definitely easier than a mythic raid of 20 people
M+ 10s already over gear heroic raid, and I can time 10s in toons with 210ilvl
I liked the rest of what you said… But no ty to the m+ suggestions

I found my first love In the game when I started leveling In dungeons with random people. I always managed to meet and have great experiences there. Even though not all of them were that good. That’s how I started. Leveling In random dungeons.
I don’t want to see the content get any easier than it is already. Any story driven content is already mind numbingly boring. If it scaled to your level or out a challenge to those interested, maybe -but without that then I can’t justify making it easier.
That said I will meet you in the middle. I think there are waaaaaaay too many things to learn that the game will NEVER teach you, so if there was a way to make the early content teach you these things, then new players would be happier too. I liked the new starting zone, that was a gr at start, if that continued forward as you leveled with more, then that would be a welcome change
End it with the imprisonment of Sargeras in Legion. Shut it down. Come back in 5 years with a next gen MMO taking the franchise in a fresh direction. I think this might have worked, but BfA/SL were just treadmills - however much I enjoyed the long-overdue reveals of Zandalar and Kul Tiras.

I never said to make the game easier. I don’t think that’s the solution. I think If the goals are attractive. The game Is doing well. But also there Is an experience that should be tailored for new people.
And my second point was take care of us who love the game and play It. That’s pretty much the only two things I could think of.
Ok then I can get behind that.
My solution in the simplest form is stop making things we NEED to do and start making things we WANT to do.
Create a grand reasoning story then move all the class abilities and soulbinding stone to Oribos and make it so players can be Nightfae (with it’s soulform) yet still use the Venthir class ability along with the soulbinds.
AKA pull the darn ripcord. There is NO reason the soulbinds need to be tied to the covenant. Your weekly covenant up’s could just represent #1 #2 and #3 soulbinds of your choice.
Make a nice little story where the soulbinding char’s pledge themselves to Oribos to bring down the jailer and will work with anyone no matter the covenant.
That’s a tough question OP. Not sure what the correct answer is but I think borrowed power systems would be a good start. If they could find a way to make us feel like we get stronger each expansion without bloat it would be a miracle and very welcome at least by myself. Don’t know how others feel. Complete the story in game! Don’t make us rely on books and secondary sources. I guess that would be a start.
Get it out of Blizzards vulture like hands.
It still amazes me how many people think there was or is a ripcord. Ion lied about that just to try and retain subs. He was only interested in convincing investors that the game is turning a profit. I can understand that people want to hold out some hope that things will improve but reality says otherwise. All we can really do at this point is wait for this bad expansion to end and maybe they’ll take the next one in a better direction but i’m not going to hold my breath.

I say…
Make an Emerald Dream expansion!
I know the ripcord never existed…They need to manually install it as soon as possible.
