You should be triggering POMs with Renew. The only time they’ll stomp each other is:
- You cast POM on a target where POM already exists.
- POM1 and POM2 select the same target without POM active. (Travel time of the missile is the factor here.)
If I see a POM, I just pick a different unit or use Renew to trigger it instead. You can also throw POM on anyone in the melee groups and minimize the stomping.
The only annoying thing is fighting over PWS. If you both have Soul Warding, it doesnt really matter. With Onyxia fireballs, for example, I just mouseover Onyxia’s target and spam PWS for P2. I’ll POM as well, but you get the idea. (Side note: playing healer on Onyxia is swampass)
Side note, this is only an issue because someone didn’t implement POM from retail properly. The fact it stomps at all is dumb.
As a little mini game, you can make a WA for tracking POMs that don’t belnog to you. Then try to overwrite the other priest’s POM at 1-2 stacks remaining and reset the stack to 5. That priest will retain ownership of POM and will be attributed the healing for that refreshed POM. So, you basically make them have significantly more healing events than normally possible.
You answer your own question. Nobody cares about topping the heals meter or healer parses. For a lot of the fights quick dispels are more important than your hps.
You can have multiple priests using both Pom and pws. 20 man raid with only 2 Pom’s, the odds of overwriting each other every time isn’t that high.
For pws, there is a 1.5 sec gcd. Weakened soul lasts 15 seconds. So 1 priest could only pws 10 people before they would have to start over if your goal is have every single raider get pws as much as possible.
Honestly two priest heals is probably ideal for horde. You need multiple dispellers (only priest on horde), multiple fear wards is nice, and one could run circle and focus on party heals and the other could run penance and focus on tank heals.
Sure you can… just have one spec deep into Holy and one into Discipline.
Dual discipline has never worked well until Mists of Pandaria.

You could just run disc and power infuse a dps if your concerned that your raid has too much healing between priests. Just fyi you divide weakened soul duration by 1.5 gcd and that’s the maximum amount of targets a single priest can pws so having 2 priests pws isn’t necessarily bad. You could even devote more of your healing towards tank healing while the other priest is spending globals on pws. You could even cast some smites if you feel like their is “too many heaing priests” and run surge of light. Pop void plague on and deal some damage.
Meters don’t mean anything for healing really. Some times, and some fights, you may let the other priest heal for the first half of the fight while you pick up the second half while the first half you may just dispel and use some prayer of healing (if you can predict damage) and doing this would put you way behind on the meter but you’d be effectively doing a very helpful job and you’d save other healers mana by being catching the aoe healing while they are busy topping. Some fights (like the general fight in aq20) you could just let other healers heal and keep your mana up and only casting to stop yourself from mana capping then pick up the slack when everyone else is getting oom.
I play disc priest. Any other healing priest in a raid completely cucks your healing between PoM erasing and now PWS infighting.
Have your raid bring literally any other healer and both you and the other healer would perform better.

Healing parses do NOT matter. Topping the healing meters does NOT matter.
Did you keep everybody alive without running out of mana? Did you dispel priority debuffs asap? Did you fear ward targets before they got feared? Did you PI your best caster dps at the right time?
These are the things that matter. Having two healer priests is not a problem right now in MC.
Rdruid gets cucked as well because you cant stack efflorescence. One has to drop it on melee and one drops it on ranged. It would probably be OP if you could just blanket the melee with 2 or 3 efflo though but i guess you could say the same about 2x 5 charge PoM bouncing around.
You dont really want to stack 2 of any healer type in a raid.
