Noticing a huge rise in undercut bots (bots undercut high volume items by a large amount and quickly buy up all of the accidental listings at that price). My 2 or 3 stops a day at the auction house to dump gathered mats is getting arduous because I can’t just “right click → create auction” anymore because half the time I try to list something I almost get baited into listing it at half price. I remember in the past they’d get me every couple days and I’d just be like “dang they got me again” but if I went thru and quick listed all of my herbs and rocks right now without watching, I’d probably have 2 or 3 per visit get listed at a scam price- and new players that don’t know better wouldn’t even know they got scammed. However, there’s no way to report these listings even tho you can see the names of the bots in the AH interface. I’ve been writing them down on a notepad but don’t know where to send them.
It’s not against terms of service.
Damn I must have missed the ToS update where they made botting/automation okay again.
Did you miss the update where the AH mats are region wide now? So you, along with everyone else, will always be undercut
It’s not a bot or automation that violates tos.
Its a lot of “no-life” people sitting at their computers using the system as designed.
I don’t post the undercut pieces anymore, but i have.
Then i just spam refresh until a decent number of people have posted at that price and then buy it up.
I’ve actually found this easier to do without tsm via the blizzard UI because of weird load and lag times.
Because mats are region wide, you literally have everyone in the entire region that does this “sniping” for good deals on the ah.
i am doubtful those are bots
So what you’re telling me is that “W****-Mannoroth” is just bein silly when he posts 1 Rousing Fire at 10 gold every 15 seconds like clockwork for hours on end? I think I’ll go ahead and report them and let bliz decide if that’s suspicious/botting or not. Wasn’t expecting to come to the forums and have people defend botters in stead of just answering my question but I guess I should have seen it coming. lol
no they aren’t being silly - they are trying to trick people like you into undercutting them - easy solution is just don’t.
I don’t have a dragon in this race, but giving you a heads up that dropping names like that will end up getting You in trouble first. No call-outs.
ooh you right good call.
Someone doesn’t know how th ah works
Buy it : p
Thanks for your help folks, after asking my local trade chat, they explained to me how to report them in-game.
Going to laugh when you get banned for fake reporting.
Having a genuine/valid suspicion of someone cheating, scamming, or botting isn’t going to get me banned, even if they end up being legit. I remember back when people on the forums hated botters and now ya’ll swarm to defend them lol.
That is an exploit of the current AH system. To change they would have to remove the initial price that is added when you put the item to sell, and make you chose the price instead.
Easy fix, but you’ll see right after my reply, waves of people saying this is not a problem, etc (these are also exploiting the AH).
Excessively reporting people because they are better at the AH than you are doesn’t make them bitters and can get you banned.
Lol between “you are defending botters” and “you are also exploiting if you are contrary to op” are a hoot.
Your logic is as selfserving… and about as sound as making another fast and the furious movie… just silly
/pats with conenscending
It’s not an exploit.
Whomever says the current system (the price added when you add the item to AH) which enable the scammers, yes, you’re one of them 100%, unequivocally.
