How to repair the Horde

It is no secret that the Horde is in a dire state. Ever since WoD Horde has been bleeding out. This begs the question about what needs to be done to get the Horde out of the mud. Here I made a list with some points about how to repair my faction. Alright let’s start.

  1. Get rid of the peace mongers. Baine and Thrall have always placed the wellbeing of the Alliance above that of the Horde. We need to get rid of them and replace them with others. In this case AU Grommash and Magatha Grimtotem.
  2. Rebellion. The Horde council needs to elect a leading figure, who can act as face and voice of the entire Horde. Somehow similar to the high king of the Alliance but of all that person would be picked by democratic vote.
  3. Getting new allies and strengthen the military. The Horde installs a conscription system which will gain the Horde a all time standing army. With alle the new allied races who chose to join the Horde it will be possible to conscript many ten thousands of soldiers to bolster the ranks of that new Horde army. If the Alliance attacks us again, we will be prepared.
  4. Recruit lore characters. Draka and Kael’thas are the perfect picks for this. In Shadowlands they will be spoken to by the Orc and Bloodelf leaders to recruit them to the Horde and that their people need them.
  5. Covenants. Since it is obvious in Shadowlands, that the two characters above will lead the Venthyr and Necrolords, those covenants will join the Horde and bolster their ranks even further. With these cosmic forces at the side of the Horde, we would finally have a counter measure against OP Characters like Tyrande and Jaina.
  6. Modernising. We will use the blue prints of Siegecrafter Blackfuse to get the weapon technology of the Horde to up to date levels. Battle mechs, Iron Stars, iron Juggernauts and robots will form a new army fully automated and to be sent against the Gnomish forces of the Alliance on an equal footing.
  7. time skip. After a time skip of 10 years the Horde will built heavy urbanizing and fortifications on the lands they currently own. New settlements form up everywhere and mark the Hrode territory under their rulership. This also greatly helps for immersion in the world of Azeroth and make the Horde zones feel more alive.
  8. The Forsaken. A new desolate council forms, made up of former Forsaken personalities. Gunther Arcanus, the black bride, Grand executor Mortuus, Belmont, Velonara and Apothecary Faranell just to name a new. Additional to that. Undercity will be rebuilt and used as necropolis that flies above the fully built up Andorhal in a stationary position. This way the Forsaken will always be in full observation of Lordaeron.

with this solid foundation it will be truly a faction that is on equal footing with the Alliance. I am grateful for any ideads down in the comments. Feel free to react to my suggestion.

Not war mongering. Strong. Read the points again. Nowhere I suggest that the Horde should start another war.

You already made most of these suggestions a few months ago and they weren’t too popular then…

It’s all he does, it’s even worse in the EU forums. He writes troll threads and then reposts them every few weeks / months without even changing a word.

This is also just a repost of:

So, these are mostly terrible? An entire Faction defined by War and being contrarian to the Alliance? Then add in a bunch of “Dead Characters Coming Back to Life”, “Deus-Ex Machina Power Boosts”, and Racial Faction homogenization to justify it. Oh, and we need a bunch more infighting to make another Warchief?

Also, did you seriously just suggest that Magatha Grimtotem should lead the Tauren? Man, its almost like your metric for “Good Strong Leadership” amounts to “Edgy Character who only survived this long due to Plot Convenience”?

Well she killed Cairne that is true, but at least her entire policy isn’t made up of what their alliance friends want them to do. This manko overshadows on Baine far too great to be ignored. I have to say Tauren alltogether aren’t well built in their list of characters. If I had to break a knee for characters who ere neither Bloodhoof or Magatha then I woulkd pick Muln Earthfury I think.

We already got the notorius good guy faction which is build by tradition. That is what makes up the Alliance. Having the Horde as their contrarian is just the logical step with these dynamics.

She didn’t just kill Cairne, she had her Grimtotem raiding all over Mulgore slaughtering anyone who wouldn’t fall in line. She killed a lot of her own people in her backhanded attempt to secure leadership. Also, both Muln and Hamuul are both very chill dudes in their own right, and work really heavily with Alliance reps within the Earthen Ring and Cenarian Circle. You hate Baine because he’s Alliance friendly? You’ll hate both of them too. You also likely hated Cairne, considering he also was pretty damned peace oriented; he died for a chance to preserve a chance at it with the Alliance.

And the Alliance being: Stable, Prosperous, and Benefitting most of its parts whilst not in a horror show like BfA? Yeah, sign me up for an unstable, unprosperous faction that forces homogeny within its Races to justify why the faction even still exists. Sounds great!

Jaina and Anduin have Baine in their back pockets. Ever since Baine called Taurajo a legitemate millitary target and warned Theramore of the attack from Garrosh this shadow stains his legacy. I refuse to see him as Horde as with how much he tried to benefit the alliance left, front and center. Baine has had never the Horde best interests in mind. His main goal was always minimizing the casualties of the Alliance.

Alliance is homogenous too but still as it stands right now it is the stronger of the two factions because of their magical and technological advantages they get because they have stuff like gnomish technology, the Vindicaar, Draenei expertize(Especially the lightforged ones) and many more I am too tired for all to count. If the Horde doesn’t want being left behind by the race of arms there needs to be made changes in the structures of the Horde, leadership and military wise alltogether.

Why don’t we start repairing the horde by not destroying it more??? Like stop killing horde leader or kicking them out? The horde lost the orc leader, the forsaken leader and the goblin leader. We can also add a 4th major figure in Nathanos.

We can also build on the strength that our race already have. Let the blood elf and night born be a major magic force. Let mag’har and goblin going wild and build a massive artillery for the horde. Let the zandalary be what they were suppose to be, unite them and make them a race that can face on human or night elf. Unite every troll and every goblin the make them more relevant.

Let the tauren do what they are suppose to do and faceroll enemy army by just charging. They only did it once in one cinematic. Also make An’she a entity on par with elune that back the orc the same way that Elune back the night elf.

Most importantly, let the race be their own race and not just reskin of human. Let the forsaken do some egdy stuff and build up their shadow and warlock group to be something relevant.

I have no problems with the Orcs calling the shots as long as it gets good results from it. The culture diversity is the biggest strength the Horde has this much is true.

I don’t want to destroy the Horde. I simply want to free its from its extra luggage. The two biggest ones are Thrall and Baine.

Not defending Erevien, but, I don’t think, given your post history, you are in a position to judge other people’s posts too harshly.

Which are also some of the last remain of the horde from few expansion ago. Thrall is still the only one with the potential to fight alliance leader, if only blizzard decide to not listen to alliance whining and keep him strong. Baine is also the strongest member of the horde if we got by strength. If they can just build him up as the son of Cairne and the future of the tauren instead of just being Anduin friend.

If the horde didn’t have lost Vol’jin, Sylvanas, Saurfang and even Gallywix, i wouldn’t have mind that much the lost of Baine but currently we are in no position to lost a other horde leader.

Don’t you know that countless spamming thread whining about the night elf fate was always justify and that horde cannot complain?

I miss Vol’jin too but he has nothing to do with Baine being bad. We just need to get rid of the characters who have damaged the Horde story the most. That prize goes to Baine and Thrall. Thrall feels out of place ever since he lost his powers and Baine can’t stop simping for Anduin and Jaina. It is just a shame and it would be a mercy for this story to get rid of them.

Not Sylvanas? Or Gallywix? Or Keal’thas? Or Magatha? Seems the only metric that you define a “Good Horde Leader” by is “How Anti the Alliance” or edgy they are? Wow … what an empty Faction that has no reason to exist beyond stoking PvP players jimmies. You also seem to hate any character who represents the WC3 vision of the Horde … the only reason any of these Horde races are either: A) A part of the Horde; or B) Still alive.

Kael’thas is my favorite character and I would love it if he returned to the blood elves.

I made a list about new leaders for the whole Horde. It would look like this.

Orcs: All the AU warlords
Trolls: Jindo the Breaker
Tauren: Sark Ragetotem/Muln Earthfury.
Blood elves: Kael’thas
Goblins: Gallywix
Undead: Sylvanas
Pandaren: Chen Stormstout
Nightborne: Grand Magistrix Elisande
Zandalari: Rastakhan
Maghar: Same as Orcs
Highmountain Tauren: That drogbar king.

The Wc3 horde is lead by the Orcs. Thing is as people the Orcs are not united. It would take the reintegration of the dark horde and fel horde into the normal Horde in order to get the Orcs enough numbers for parity against the humans who lead the alliance.

HOLY CRAP! This list is largely comprised of monsters who slaughter their own people for power or wealth? Or crazed fanatics who get them killed because of they’re convinced they’re right. Outside of AU Grommash and Doomhammer (who are more nuanced in “Hellscream”) … Jindo? Keal? Wix? Sylvanas? Elisande? The majority of the AU Chieftains? My god, you don’t care at all if Horde people die, as long as they’re cogs in the machine of perpetual self-destructive war against the Alliance; and those leaders leading them all to their deaths give some loose “lipservice” to “For the Horde”!

As for Baine … the guy’s characterization has problems. However, those problems do not extend to either his warning to Jaina to “get her people out” with the destruction of Theramore; nor his freeing of Derek Proudmoore. Baine may have warned her to evacuate, but he did nothing to stop the attack and led from the Front Lines. It was Garrosh who decided to wait and deliberately turn the city into a Horde meatgrinder so he could use the Mana Bomb. He got those Horde soldiers killed, not Baine. As for Derek, since that tactic would have only served as a means of escalation and silencing Alliance peaceniks … Sylvanas was aiming for an augment to the Horde meatgrinder. Those few Horde he killed in Derek’s release likely saved far more Horde lives.
