Advanced interface option addon has the option but doesn’t do anything. Also installed XCt but I still get an infinite spam from blizz telling me that one mob is snared snared snared snared snared snared snared snared snared.
Try Combat, Loss of Control Alerts, uncheck it.
Pretty certain that is for the alert that tells you when you are kicked/stunned/feared/etc. I’m talking about when anybody (and I mean anybody) snares a mob that I myself aren’t even in combat with it will say SNARED - PLAYER NAME REALM NAME and it will spam it every time the snare is applied or ticks.
My apologies for the necro but wanted to let you know I have the same issue. Turned off all add ons, went through all setting, nothing seems to turn them off.

Yes. I have tried it with all addons disabled and enabled. Advanced Interface Options does not do anything either sadly. I do not use an addon like mik scrolling battle text, but i downloaded that to see if that would take it away, but it does not go away.
Have you already tried searching for “floating combat text” in the default game menu?
Yes, disabling just takes away the damage and healing numbers, but the snare message stays.
In advanced interface options, go to cvar browser and search “snare” set both to 0 then reload. Hope that works.
I will give this a try once I am able to log in or tomorrow after work. I will keep the thread updated if this works. Thanks!

ok, so I found a temporary fix on reddit! In AdvancedInterfaceOptions, go to the cvar browser, then search for “worldtextrandomxy”. Double click the line and change the value to 999999999999999, then hit enter on your keyboard and do a /reload. while the notification is still there, it puts it so far off your screen that you can not see it! LOL
Think i found your solution. worked for me.
go to status text and change to “none”
