So, I just downloaded the addon Details! and use it to run a dungeon, but I couldn’t figure out what the “K” means, it wasn’t stated on the addon page where I download the addon so I was thinking maybe it’s a common knowledge that doesn’t need to be mentioned.
In the chart it says “52.03M (33.2K, 36.8%)”, I’m guessing 52.03M is the actual damage I did, 36.8% is the percentage of my damage among the group, but what about 33.2K?
That would be the amount of damage per second you put out.

The 33.2k is your dps, I’m assuming for the overall dungeon since 52 mil is a lot of damage for one fight.
You can also look through each individual encounter to see your dps and damage done for each.

Got it. Normally does people refer to the dps or the overall damage?
On King Mechagon fight I did “7.58M (37.6K, 35.4%)” as outlaw, does that mean that my single target dps is the same as my AoE? Something must be wrong with my AoE build…
Depends on the context. Frequently having a higher DPS means you do more overall damage. Simple arithmetic there. If the fight lasts a certain amount of time more DPS means more overall damage. Most of the time people refer to DPS since that tends to even out after a few minutes of a boss fight while the overall damage will fluctuate based on the boss’ health, additional adds, or the fight length.
Not necessarily. The DPS shown in the dungeon overview at the end of the dungeon isn’t the most useful metric in the world since it includes the entire dungeon, which means any weirdness like forced downtime or any other oddities that crop up in the chaos of combat are factored in as well. If you want a good look at your AoE DPS it’s better to single out a single trash pull so you work with as few variables as possible.
There is a lot you can do with details. Mine is 3 windows stacked. 1 showing healing, 1 damage, and 1 is a breakdown of my spells.
You also want to have the display set to current fight so it shows you whats happening now. It resets everytime you leave/enter combat.
Just play around with all the options, you’ll figure it out.

Most people I play with use the K. If you want to be flashy you just look at and talk about the current fight…that’s where you see DH’s doing 500k damage. Which is really nice to know what you can burst to in some places.
What I think the best indicators of progress for a character is is the Overall DPS and damage taken. Like say you averaged 40k overall (trash and boss fights) and what you didn’t get hit by. You can do huge damage if you just stand in stuff and hope the healer heals you. If the healer decides you’re not worth the mana because you don’t do the mechs right then you’re not doing any DPS. You don’t want to get screamed at by the healer. That’s the #1 worst call out ever in a run.
I think in mechagon dungeon I still take some unnecessary damage sometimes that’s why I brought a bunch of abbysal healing potion to help ease the tension for the healer, those potions usually recovers my whole hp bar per drink.
I didn’t see it answered, but I believe “K” is a thousand.
So your breakdown would be
52.03 Million Total
33.2 Thousand Damage Per Second
36.8% of the total damage done
If you had already figured all of that out, my bad, carry on
