I mean, you can probably buy a token for $20 and redeem that for the 30 days time. But it doesn’t look like they just sell a single month’s time.

You buy the WoW Token from the Auction House for gold, and that gives you the option to exchange it for 30 days game time or Battle.net balance. Purchasing the WoW Token from the shop only allows for you to sell to the Auction House.

Looks like you have to be in-game to buy it, so it gets delivered to a specific character.
I’ve never actually bought one for cash (only for gold through the AH), so I don’t know the specifics of how that works.

You would still need a sub in the first place to be able to do this, unfortunately Blizzard created this weird pitfall where if you aren’t subbed but have enough B-net balance for a token (since for some reason you cannot use a token that you bought for any purpose other than selling it for gold) and not enough for the 2 month sub (or just don’t want that in the first place) you basically cannot use the B-net balance for game time.
This is why it was such a dumb idea to remove the 1 month choice in the first place.

He doesn’t have enough Australian Dollars to convert the cash into tokens as he has $25.15 AUD, but a Token down-under costs $32 AUD. The exchange rate fluctuates daily, but I see $20 USD as $30.84 AUD as I write this… Blizz probably picked an exchange on a specific day and used that (plus some buffer based on historical volatility) for the next 6 or 12 months.
Not sure the OP has 263,000 gold… they have $25.15 AUD of bNet Balance (not enough to buy a Token) and they didn’t say how much gold they had to spare…
why do you even have battle net balance?
