I took a few breaks from playing wow and I’m wondering how players feel about Hunters nowadays? I’d like to give one a serious try, but I do remember years back that a lot of players would call you the H**tard and make you feel bad enough to try a different class…
What are your thoughts on Hunters in the War Within? Which variants are better solo, mythic’s and in raids?
Just thought I’d get a feel for what’s what with Hunters, before I try to dive in 100%.

I really enjoy my hunter… BM, MM, Surv… I’ve tried all the specs and have had fun on them all…
Right now, my MM hunter is playing thru shadowlands to get the armor mogs because I didn’t do it the first time 
Still one of the most popular classes I believe.
I like my hunter, I play mostly solo, so BM is nice.
Sounds like Hunter is a go on this end then !
Now to figure out how many things I need to discover ( Tomes? ) that unlocks the elite/rare types of monters/pets!

Ultimately I despised the SV changes going from range to SV in Legion.
Don’t really care about MM and BM since I don’t find the fantasy of either of these specs appealing. Decided to try out Melee SV a couple of weeks ago, I really enjoy it. Leaping in and out of combat has a dopamine effect. I say this strictly as a Solo player that only does delves, it’s a fun spec.
Headhunter: So you like leaping in and out of combat, but don’t know how to manage cooldowns…hmm…(Rogue places won’t hire him)…oh, I think I found someone who has a job for you. “MSV Contracting, LLC.”

Hunter was in need a class\tree rework for a while. MM is just about to get a pretty good one so its looking good for MM.
Survival sucks now cause they keep removing stuff like the AOE ranged starter spell, the triple mongoose after the AOE spliting the dot, and every single mechanic that could be possibly fun, they keep capping every single thing in this s*** game including elemental, survival, arms…
Can’t comment on SV or BM - I don’t enjoy either spec. If you like pokemon, those are the only two options that will exist for you in a few weeks - at least until Blizzard decides that “designing new pets is too hard, we’ll just force you to use X pet.”
MM’s core rotation is more or less ok, though it’s solo-ability is about to take a nose dive in delves.
Some of that will be mitigated by the fact that they’re giving Brann a tank spec at the same time.
Which is more for healers than for DPS. We have no means to keep a Brann alive as we have no ability to heal others.
Unlike our pet, which we can heal.
Fun fact, they have announced Brannk details, and yeah - he’s not going to work for MM. He lacks healing options, and so is intended for healers and not DPS
I was starting to think MM was in a good spot for a while, for a change. Now I have that same dread I did before the Legion pre-patch, seeing how they were flipping the board and gutting my abilities. I don’t think they’re going to do a good job of it. They’re going to chop us up and haphazardly put us back together over the course of the rest of the expansion and I think most longtime hunters will be disappointed with MM’s performance in every aspect of the game. I sincerely don’t trust this radical new direction they’re taking the spec in.
After they gutted hunters in Legion I quit the game for the following 2 expansions. I was that dissatisfied with what they did.
