How do you guys pick? I like the game and want to do more. But i always struggle to pick a character and focus on it. Im playing so many things right now. I like them all but then not enough to say that i really enjoy that class moreso than others.
Hunter is the best solo class.
Most of WoW is done solo.
Hunter has the simplest rotation in WoW and has pets as well as Camouflage, Cheetah, and Feign Death.
So Iâm a Hunter.
Only downside is that Mail has the worst Mog options and our only quiver/bullet pouch options are Trading Post or our Legendary Bow.
/shrug
I just settled into healing on my priest around MoP. And Iâve had a hunter that I play a lot since vanilla. You donât have to go out of your way to pick oneâŚjust try them and play what you have the most fun with.
Decide what you like and then go with it. if youâve been playing multiple classes then pick whatever you tend to like best.
Originally, I chose a hunter because RDPS, and night elf because . . . Tolkien. When classic vanilla came out, I did that again but discovered that I enjoyed arms-fury warriors, disc priests, pallys, locks and mages about equally. Since I donât try to be competitive with anyone but myself, I discovered that I like the jack of all trades master of none approach to the game.
Only class to have guns is hunter, easy choice.
If currency and reputation was account wide I would do that.
Youâre punished for alting or having multiple mains due to this. Blizzard is dragging its feet on this issue and itâs ultimately hurting WoW.
I donât since I donât need a main.
For me I think itâs because l found a nice guild that like my heals so Iâve been sticking to my priest mostly. Lol
I play what I like, thatâs how.
I play what i find the most fun.
And then get sad it doesnt do everything i want.
And then spend hours trying the classes that do do what i want. And get sad that i dont enjoy them.
Then i go back to playing what i find the most fun.
Then i repeat the cycle every month or so.
Your main picks you.
When you log into the game your main should throw an armored fist through your screen and drag you in screaming âPLAY ME!â
I picked shaman during the TBC era because I wanted to both heal and dps. I have been ride or die since.
âŚthats not what âpunishedâ means.
If anything, having alts is a huge boon.
Rogue, too. Though, it isnât an equippable piece of gear.
This is such a mood. In raid I DPS, but I prefer to heal M+. But, every healer I enjoy I hate the DPS specs, and vice versa. Love spriest, hate holy and disc. Love rdruid, hate balance and feral.
Figure out what type of combat system you like. Figure out what type of person you are. Do you enjoy wrangling melee/tank mechanics? Are you more of a support minded person who enjoys keeping everyone else alive? Prefer everything at range? Enjoy handling mechanics via immunities/utility or otherwise?
What type of resource systems are interesting. Passive energy regen? energy build up via âbuilderâ spells? X number of major âitemsâ that build up such as runes, chi, etc as opposed to say 100/120 astral power, mana, shards, etc?
I donât tend to enjoy âwait for energy to regen passivelyâ mechanics⌠So rogues, hunters really arenât my cup of tea. Chicken druids which I play, HoT/DoT classes⌠yeah, those are interesting at least for me personally.
Try some stuff out, maybe watch some videos⌠See what looks interesting at both low and high end.
How is having to redo rep grinds a boon?
In this situation i would say main the one you do the best on.
U can have a main snd still play alts
Well, heâs gotta actually text back in full sentences, ideally he takes a lil care of himself, enough that I donât feel like if I donât constantly coddle this man he will give himself botulism. Iâm not too picky about looks - just folks that care about the world, their lives, and others, and - oh
Mains.
Uh.
Um.
Hm.
Idk man whateverâs fun
I have one of every class at max level usually by mid way through the expac. I try a bunch of classes. I usually have 1 tank, 1 heal, and 2 or 3 DPS each patch cycle. I only raid through heroic and KSM key level, because thats where I like to play at. It allows me to jump from class to class, playing whatever I like.
I dont meta chase. I play what I find fun. And at the level I play at, you dont have to be meta to succeed.
Is it fun?
Does it die too much?
Is it good at its job?
Do I like the look?
Do I enjoy the rotation/priority?
