How to not go oom as a resto shaman

So I was not getting any invites to heroic nerubar palace so I decided to just heal it, however this did not go too well because I kept running out of mana.

So my question is how do I not run out of mana? Also it would be good to mention I did have healing weapon and offhand from BRD but my trinkets were kinda terrible (Skydan and eggsack from arakara)

Something to consider: You don’t have to keep Surging Totem down full time - use it when you need it. Also, try to only Chain Heal when you have modifiers/buffs for Chain Heal present as the spell is super mana hungry. Riptide, Healing Wave, Wellspring and Healing Stream/Cloudburst Totem are your friends and Unleash Life is neat.

Should I be playing farseer or totem in your opinion?

I really haven’t seen any Resto Shamans playing Farseer in raid so I’m not really sure on that front (I’ve only played Totemic in raid). For M+, Farseer is very strong and is waaay more mana efficient - after playing Farseer in M+, it is certainly higher on my personal preference as the group burst healing feels more frequent and reliable.

In my experience farseer is better fitted for small groups and totemic is better kitted for large ones. That’s not to say they can’t work with the other but for raids … moving that totem around when you need to is just so nice …

I recently switched to Farseer and prefer that. I do more healing and don’t run out of mana ever. It is a more active role though. I enjoy it, but totem is easier.
