How to not die in 2 seconds?

Since the pre-patch I don’t understand PVP anymore.

I have 18k health. Hunters hit me for 4-5k+ per aim shot, shadow priests do similar. If there are two horde and I get stunned, I’m dead during the stun duration.

I die so fast the “What happened to me?” combat log isn’t even accurate. I literally can’t do anything in PVP anymore. Am I missing something?

Fury is free hks and your vers is very low. You’ll last a few more sec with some more gear and arms.

You’re not wearing your PvP trinket…

Yes, I know it feels bad dropping some iLvLs to wear the trinket, but it’s better than dying in a stun

MM/SUB/RET deletes anyone in seconds, not an issue with you.

1: Blizzard reversed one of the best ideas they’ve had for PVP since changing honor from a curve based reward system to a point system, and have gone back to making people wear PVP trinkets specifically to negate CC, thus making racial abilities that negate CC important again.

2: Versatility is low key your new PVP stat since resilience isn’t a thing anymore, and you can always use more.

3: Some specific class specs are incredibly broken at the moment. Subtlety Rogues are enjoying some “Stun your way through 3/4ths of their HP” grade burst and hard CC, Marksmen Hunters can aimed shot for most of your HP, and ret paladins are obnoxious to kill and will both out DPS and out heal you, while also having an invulnerability trick (and not one that breaks on using abilities!) and also a ‘heal to full HP’ trick.

Lmao, coming from the most faceroll class in WoW by far. Honestly, in all my years of playing MMOs demon hunters annoy me the worst. Low skill/High reward and a free high level start to boot. Demon hunters are basically the auto aim of WoW.

I’d tolerate this from a rogue- there’s a lot of nuance to playing a rogue effectively- but Paladins are the poster child for low input / high reward game play. Blizzard even copped to the design choice at one point- they wanted a class that looked cool and didn’t require much thought in terms of rotation, positioning, system knowledge, or really anything.

If I’m completely honest I play demon hunter because it’s hard to let go of the QOL improvements they enjoy- I basically only take fall damage when the game borks and doesn’t let me glide, three dashes is a ton of mobility, and mastery gives me free movement speed. I play a much more complicated class in FF14- Bards have something like 16 unique abilities and CD’s to keep track of? It’s a lot- and pointing out that one class is simpler than another is kind of silly in WoW. Every class is simple- if you’re lucky you might have a spec that has some depth to it, but typically not. The days of MOP where you had classes like Warlocks or Balance Druids where the class wasn’t that complicated to pick up but the depth and room for improvement was massive are gone, and based on Blizzard’s behavior they’re not coming back.

I remember playing my MM hunter in the BFA prepatch. Thats not this prepatch but the prepatch for this current expansion. I remember how broken it was and I was basically globaling people lol. aimed shot from stealth with the double shot and bonuses …it was bro…KEN.

knew it would get nerfed and it got nerfed before BFA release. fastest hunter nerf ever.

Yeah pre-patches are a mess man. Hunters are often broken and other classes too. Looks like rogues and ret paladins people are complaining about.

I myself a frost mage…literally got deleted by a MM hunter. I’m talking…I was there…then I wasn’t. Checked combat log and yes …alot of attacks happened. but it was all in less than 1/2 second lol.

I actually laughed. Karma I guess for what i did in BFA prepatch years ago.

You’re ilvl 115, try buying a few dozen mythic caries for wow tokens then try again.

I second this. With how fast pace the game is during prepatch, arms offers you better damage reduction than enraged regen on a cd. The slower the meta the better sustain fury has. Arms chunks people right now too.

dont waste your gold on carries now the new exp comes out in 20 days

Go buy PVE carries so I don’t instantly die in PVP…

Hmmmm

Yeah, Ull need to spend the $$ on WoW tokens. Going price for carries is like 90k. Have fun! I tried to expose this BS, but their are alot of people that benefit from carries and are hopping on the forums and bushwhacking the cause.

It’s hard for me to respect DH personally as well because I’m a demo lock main, and it’s like… not very creative to just copy paste a class’s mechanics and erase that mechanic from them. Not your fault, it’s just like, not creative of Blizzard.

What ever you buy … Hunter are gonna kill you in couple of globals so are Sub Rogues abd S Priests. The pre patch is not balanced .

and ele shamans :no_mouth:

Yes with setup … but you can atleast see us setting up. You are dead or almost dead from stealth with Hunter/Rogue so there is no counter play there . And Priests damage is pretty front loaded too.

Playing War in BGs is tough. You typically get all the punishment for obvious reasons of being on front line. Disorients, stuns, frost bolts. I personally wouldn’t recommend going for role as dps. It’s going to suffer tremendously. Try going in as a tank, so at least you’re doing something useful for the team…soaking the damage. I better add switch to prot just incase it’s not a given.

Yeah at least rogues have to actively do damage to a stunned target…lasso is harsh

6 k damage over 5 secs with a 30 sec CD … not really harsh . Lasso was pretty harsh till they nerfed it hard in BFA.

Ele burst right now is an interaction between Echo, Storm Keeper and SoP which can 100-0 you in 2-3 secs but which while still working on live has been unfortunately nerfed in Beta
