Can any Rogue friends explain the best types of dungeon pulling strategies that I should be using as a tank to help Rogues do the most damage?
Also, is chain pulling really detrimental to Rogue dps?

depends on the spec if sub then depending on legendary then yes. If they are using the crit lego in aoe situations our aoe does alot more dmg based off crits ( grant expose weakness) and targets with this debuff take extra aoe dmg from our finisher (black powder). The rogue shouldnt be complaining about this tho unless they are that worried about top dps spot. If its a clearence issue just let them restealth before the pull if not just keep doing you its not that big of a deal.
Only if we’re not given an opportunity to drop combat. The master legendary’s damage comes from opening from stealth. I don’t mind when a tank chain pulls, but only if there’s a second or two for me to quickly grab stealth again.
Or you could big gorilla and pull an entire room in one go… that works.
The only thing you really need to worry about is allowing the rogue to restealth between pulls, especially if they are assassination spec.
Also, do not pull more mobs than your groups AoE limit. It just slows things down and stresses your healer. If everyone in the group has a low AOE cap then avoid pulling unnecessarily more than what can be hit at once. Only a few specs have higher AoE caps to my knowledge. Most classes hit somewhere’s like 5-8 mobs at once max.
Aside from that continually pulling mobs out of red on the ground so they have a position to stand and melee the mob without dying is all that really needs to be done.
The two major things are:
Letting them restealth between pulls, this affects each spec differently but as a general rule it’s just best to start in stealth.
Give melee in general room to stand behind the boss(like don’t have the mobs on the edge of stuff on the ground). Sub rogues really need to be behind because our backstab does 20% more damage from behind.
Thanks for all the replies! This information is really helpful and I think it will go a long way for both myself and the rogues in my groups in the future.
You do you, the rogue is there to compliment the tank not the other way around. That necrotic bolt guy about to blast the tank? Nah fam I’ma kick that boy. One ranged mob hanging out off the side pelting the healer? Nah fam I got you. Blinded. You want a lil extra threat to help out in the beginning of the pull? Tricks baby. You worried about that other guy casting? Nah fam I just stunned that dude. Got a major kill target? Nah slime I’m blowin these cooldowns and that mob is going to need a new colostomy bag.
Support rogue is here to make trash pulls easy af and delete bosses. Let’s go baby.
All I ask is that you try to keep mobs positioned so that I don’t have to choose between standing in the fire and stabbing things in the back.
if you have a sub rogue in the group, their aoe rotation is optimized at 5 + target
