How to manually decide what quality materials to use when crafting?

So im a leatherworker and im trying to craft some gear. Now i see the checkbox on my crafting UI “Use Best Quality Reagents” If i leave this unchecked then the quality of materials used defaults to lowest possible quality. If i check the box then it uses highest possible quality and if theres not enough of the quality 3 mats then it pulls the remaining number needed from the quality 2 mats.

What if i just want to use the Quality 2 mats and save my quality 3 mats for a special craft somewhere in the future? Ive tried clicking the reagent itself which brings up an interface window to change the values of each material used. But if i try changing any of these values, the numbers automatically change back 1 second after i try changing. so i cant use just quality 2 unless im out of quality 1 mats or quality 3 mats? that seems kinda dumb? Is there something im missing?

When you uncheck use best quality you can select the materials used in the recipe interface and it will bring up the option to pick which quality type to use.

but thats what im saying, ive done that, and tried changing which matierals are used and they get automatically changed back. This is with the box unchecked. Ive also disabled all addons so i know its not an addon doing it…

I am also experiencing the same issue. You are not alone!

I logged out (back to character selection screen), and then logged back in. That seemed to fix it for now.

Hmmm so oddly, i have logged in and out a couple times since the last time i tried to craft that i was experiencing this issue. Saw your note about logging out and in and thought “hey, ive logged in and out a couple times since then, lets see if that fixed it.” Went to the bench and NOPE still seeing the issue. So i logged out right there, logged back in, and now its working. So at some point something is buggin it to revert back no sure what yet, but for now at least i have this somewhat awkward workaround. Thanks!
