I already listen to music and listen to podcasts. I think i have a bigger problem though, i keep making and deleting characters because i am too picky, i can’t decide what class to play. I like to do some pvp while leveling up to break up the questing. Does anyone else struggle with this? Aesthetics mean a lot to me.
I relate! I will delete and restart constantly with alts. Just started a new Druid in classic, and I am having a lot of fun. I think it has to do with having so many playstyles to pick from. I never really got into them because I was intimidated by all the keybinds etc.
You already know this though because you play a druid too.
I listen to a lot of music as well. One thing that helps keep things fresh is listening to music I haven’t heard before so I can discover songs I like and add them to my daily playlist. Might seem silly, but I found me listening to the same 100-200 songs over and over contributed to the burn out.
Don’t do it sober and have a second monitor for streaming anime.
Spam dungeons and watch tv.
What i do anyway.
Heya pal it’s me your friendly neighborhood Holysalt Dwarf Paladin.
So I made a thread about me “lacking motivation” and I find that if I do what I want I enjoy the game a ton more. Don’t want to do DF? Do old content, do some pet battles, gather herbs, skins, mine or fish. Don’t want to quest then do dungeons. Take your time. The problem is FORCING yourself to do something you naturally don’t want to when it is a GAME meant for
F IS FOR FIRE THAT BURNS DOWN THE WHOLE TOWN…
I mean…fun.
So down here in the deep blue sea…errr…Azeroth you should just have fun and do it your way. Be Burger King to yourself. Just have fun. Add some new friends, try new things in Azeroth and don’t just keep making it the same old habits that ruin YOUR experience. You’re paying for the game right? So do it YOUR way.
Find something that makes it fun for YOU. I’ll do dailies, quest, fish, etc and I haven’t touched DF on my new character yet. I’m almost 61 from doing old content. Sure I’ll have to do the campaign but I’ll go when I’m good and ready. If I get to 70 through doing Loremaster in every single other zone first who cares? It’s my sub I’ll play how I want.
You my friend need to take the “do whatever you want” pill and just chill how you want to. Be like water. It fills a cup, it fills a canyon, it flows and can bend easily. Be water my friend. ![]()
U is for URANIUM BOMBS.
N is for NO SURVIVORS.
And Vengeance for Teldrassil. At least, that’s what would make my Night Elf Sniper would say. She’s still not over it after loss of her parents there.
… What were we talking about? Oh right, Leveling. Hmmm… I mean yea, do whatever it’s fun. It’s kind of a vague answer because a lot of leveling content is mundane like running dungeons, BGs or quests.
N IS FOR NOOOOOO SURRRRRVIIIIIVOOORRRRRSSSS
Glad someone caught my joke. xD
I listen to music while I play more often than not, so I’m usually jamming to whatever I’m in the mood for while I level. I also don’t level nonstop from start to finish. I take a lot of breaks and treat it as more of a one-man marathon.
Few ways to do it.
- Make every class a hero class once you’ve capped 1-x number of times
- Give a stacking xp buff once you’ve capped toons
I’m sure there are more solutions - but those are probably 2 of the easiest.
Leveling is faster than ever, but takes a good 4-8 hours.
It will always be a drag unless Blizzard decides to make leveling its own form of content instead of just filler on the way to endgame.
It wasn’t the case in 2007 or whatever because there was a huge amount of new players and the game itself was new so the leveling back then felt like part of the game.
But that doesn’t apply in 2023.
This is very true too…that’s why I do old content, dailies, fish and do what I want. So I’m not “forced” to just “do it” for the sake of “end game” gear grinding. Who cares about gear if you can live, have fun and do what you want?
I watch streams on my other monitor while I level, it always helps pass the time. It’s both music and a podcast in one.
