First start with the “lesser than” symbol, then press the number three.

I do alt + 3 on number pad but I don’t think it works for the regular numbers

That would be through alt codes, like Rita showed. Though they require a num pad. You can also find the symbol and copy it. But you’ll only have it until you copy something else. There may be addons that allow yo to input symbols to the chat, but they are unknown to me.

It’s alt + Numpad 3. That’s the only way to do it.
