At the same time, with classic being pushed more and more down the exact same path retail took (including some things that people initially claimed to be against, but that’s neither here nor there), the armory for classic is coming.
But the real thing that would make all the ideas this thread has irrelevant, is to allow posters to de-couple their characters from their posting, and enforce a single posting identity on everyone.

Then people will make hardcore toons? But if a hardcore toon dies it wouldn’t exist anymore so …. I’m guessing they wouldn’t have forum permissions at all.
Awwww man. I’ve gotta hunter at 29. Never died, I apply for HC. Why all this noise?!

People’s characters have managed to retain their forum permissions for months after being deleted or server transferring.
If you click on the armory of a retail character and it’s a 404, that character has either been deleted, renamed, or transferred.

But still. Can a dead character post?
Not enough of an interesting question to suffer through even 10 levels of vanilla leveling for.
I should or shouldn’t revert to classic toon on forums? All these posts make me wonder how much I should give a fudge. Like what even are we all going to do?

I might be interested in testing it but if I die before level 10 and it all restarts over… that sounds like a pain lol
I’m at level 29 in Classic no deaths, you’ll be fine.
Can your hardcore toon post?
It’s not HC yet just classic. I didn’t make one on an HC server, just classic in HC mode.

Exactly. A lot of the stated concern on this is coming from people who want to continue to abuse the current state of infinite identities on the forums in some way.
If there’s some actual stalking/harassment going on, the solution doesn’t change regardless of these: ignore the person, and report it to blizzard. Blizzard will then take care of it.

We’re both in it. Do you know I hated Uggs before Crocs were even a flicker in the eye of shoe ware dreams? You’ll be okay.
If you’re that bothered by people looking at your publicly available characters which Blizzard chooses to make public (Litteraly nothing happens since this is just your pixels with some numbers on there), then i don’t think MMOs are for you then.
At this point, the excuse of “privacy” is a dogwhistle for wanting to be malicious or wanting to do malicious things without being caught or called out. If you wern’t being malicious, then you wouldn’t need privacy over your publicly available characters you don’t even own.

I just wanna fling crocs at Sasarai. Non abusive all for fun.
Edit: I also hate crocs so people can fling them back.
Crocs are awesome for my diabetic feet, though

So you haven’t been harassed with hate mail in the past or had people use alts after they have blocked you/ you block them and try and annoy you in game? I’d you read the recent posts a few people have shared stories that are quite the opposite sir.
