Doesn’t fix ramp time. How about a 90 sec CD that applies agony + corruption to all targets in an area?
Right, but that’s a less simple change that would potentially take a bunch of balancing to get right.
My suggestion, at least in earlier dungeons, makes it so you can at least hit 4-5 targets with a few dots and get out all your Malefic raptures for at least those dots before they all start to immediately fall off.
This change isn’t necessarily to “buff” them, though that’s what it’d technically be, it’s just to make their rotation feel smoother in the larger dungeon pulls during the leveling process.
Mmm I find longevity is rarely an issue for me in dungeons. Part of the reason I can’t compete with mages or boomkins is because they have short CDs and can front load damage.
I think we need some way to do something at least similar.
Sure, once you get darkglare it’s not a huge problem, that and seed.
Talking about the leveling process and how awful you feel until over level 40 tho. I’m not in here trying to solve Aff warlock period.
Remove the stacking component of Agony, remove the shard cost on vile taint, and rework singularity so that it AoE applies Agony

No not really, it’s still our shard generator, plays into the master of dot and rot theme of aff having a ton of dots, and is another thing to boost the dmg of MR

Well, I mean thematically, I guess? like, I’d still just put another DoT there, but the “effect” of agony itself is kind of underwhelming, both graphically and in discription… If I was going to remove the whole gimmick I’d make a cooler dot.
I think the purpose of the Sow the seeds buffs was for that reason however the problem is Rapture does its job but you do not lose ST dmg.
We just need some way of spreading our DoTs thus saving us a ton of time battling with the GCD. Our set up takes too damn long for content like m+ dungeons.
Or just bring back Soul Swap, that would make things substantially better.
If they would make one of a few simple changes things would be miles better.
If Blizzard did any of those three choices QoL in dungeons/aoe would be much better.
There is an easier way, make the singularity baseline and increase seed from 3 target to 5 target. They did it in legion, it was so good. I don;t know why they just take every good things in MOP, WOD, Legion away from warlock.

That only works if SL is still counted as a separate dot, otherwise it’s a nerf to Rapture and ends up making us do less damage overall.
I’ve said to friends in the past that considering that Seed of Corruption has a cast time, needs to travel and hit it’s target, then it should do a lot more in AoE situations. I always thought that if it was changed to spread all our current dots on the target it was cast on to everything within a radius then it’d be a much more rewarding spell, especially with a shard cost.
This is very true. There’s a spell in FFXIV for Arcanist that does something like this. It’s just an explosion that puts all dots on the target on any other targets in range for the same duration. It’s a satisfying spell.
I think Aff war could seriously use something like that.
Seed of corruption does compete with rapture but it has less value to me. Long cast, travel time, shard cost & the damage ceiling before it pops makes me think seed needs a re-evaluation as to the role it plays in our toolkit.
Whether seed gets a rework or we get a new version of soulburn: soulswap, I really think aff need a shortish cd that we can pop to quickly apply or spread our dots… all our dots.
