Trying to get the chef title and came across a recipe (Broiled Bloodfin) requiring level 300. A bit confused on the different cooking stuff though so I would really appreciate any help. How do the cooking levels work? I can’t find just the regular “cooking” level in the cooking tab, all I see is the cold north cooking, pandaria, and the other expansions. What’s the best and quickest way to reach level 300 cooking? It’s for retail.
You are looking for “Old World Recipes” which is at the bottom. It is also the first one you learn when you pick up cooking.
Around the Thanksgiving event you can (or could, not sure of it has changed), level up old world cooking to 300 during the event. Also Darkmoon Fair gives you a +5 to the lowest skill each time it comes around if you take the cooking quest.
Otherwise old world cooking can be a long drawn out thing.
The Thanksgiving event will likely top you out at about 280-285 but yes far and above the easiest way to level Classic cooking.
Also the DMF gives +5 to your highest tier rather than the lowest. So it can be tough to get it to apply to Classic.
The OG way to close out to 300 is Smoked Desert Dumplings which you need to do a quest in Silithus to learn (https://www.wowhead.com/quest=8307/desert-recipe).
You need to be 285 to be offered the quest, and in the course of doing the quest will also usually supply you with enough meat to cook from 285 to the end.
