Is this even possible for us? They almost always get the opener and have amazing utility.

Get a kidney off early so they trinket it. Wait for them to pop defensives and then blind so they’re wasted. If they fly up in the air, cloak. You’ll still have evasion. Works most times against average DHs. Good ones are tough when you can’t bait trinket.
If you’re referring to arenas, LoS their Sight. If you can’t, make sure your partner makes the DH enter combat to make their sight go away. If you’re both stealthies and neither one of the above is an option, well, just hope the DH doesn’t target you or make it as hard as possible for them to get to you before Sight goes down. When you finally enter combat with them, refer to what Envy said.
The key to killing a demon hunter is to bait out a trinket and play subtlety.
Assassination rogues cannot duel at all. Just open with a full burst rotation and hope for a trinket. If not, reset and do it again.
Once their trinket is spent, wait for DR to wear off, pop shadow blades, and it’s gg.
Take soothing darkness and outheal their bleed and just los around piller. Use blind, and sap to reset stun DR.
You don’t.
Roll outlaw…
Force them to blow their CDs, reset the fight, and then blow yours.
I squared up with one in wpvp a few days ago. I was able to last a long time but he was just too good. With more experience I might have been better.
DH are just our counter it seems. Best to avoid em or bring friends!
Edit… Should say I have almost zero knowledge of that class. So I had no clue what a** whoopin I was about to receive lol.
Big thing is trying not to waste heavy gcds and cds into things like blur and blade dance (so tiggering to pump a 5pt finisher into a bladebance, you’re just wasting gcd and energy Regen). You can smoke bomb the rfa. And cloak/kick eyebeam to minimize leeching.
Vs a good DH it usually takes at least 2 full nodr kidneys.
In arena they’re tough as a rogue since they have so many ways to avoid the pressure especially with help from others
Hard to say when to evasion.
But 1v1 I usually burn it during their burst when I’m high hp and keep doing through. Then I’ll save blind for an emergency.
Also if you wanna kite a little to reset a stun dr or pool some energy: Sprint away and as soon as they use their dash, shadowstep it and keep moving
Since you can’t step kidney during blur like you can vs rogues evasion, using it to avoid damage is pretty clutch
Also. Many dhs out in the world aren’t very PvP focused. So you can often cloak right after kidney and a lot of times avoid the chaos nova that many dhs panic open with
never continue a fight where it immediately began against a DH, keep them moving out of all their AoE nonsense and be wary of the AoE stun’s range. when trying to make distance from one always remember they WILL keep up with your spells that make the distance so pack consumables or engineer some. always abuse line of sight to the range of shadowstep/sap/stun when in fear of their stealth sight. the above comment about Outlaw being the DH nemesis is true in my experience as well.
Great advice, thanks.
They are overpowered class that is tough for us right now.
The best way to handle them, WPVP-BG, use LOS, take your time, wait until they are injured and stomp them into the dirt. There are no fair fights especially with an OP class.
DH’s are not our counter
just pop vendetta, what are they gonna do? nothing
the only way DH can truly counter your vendetta is to fly up in the air, run away and come back after, or use their cc on you. Their cc isn’t that great either.
only kidney shot them from behind
According to most DH-is-god-pvp supporters here, DH does not have to do anything. They could spam DPS rotation and kill a rogue even they use vendetta.

Much has changed since this was first posted.
I’ve found that in PVP against a DH, they really are the Best…
At Running away.
That’s indigenous…
We also get True Baring a couple times.
Agree with all of this other than that when they fly in the air it’s often better to smoke bomb and re-stealth.
Is anyone else pissed off that DH has spectral sight? I can stomach almost all of their other advantages but it feels really really wrong that one of the fundamental advantages of rogues is entirely nullified by a class that already has better versions of most of our other abilities. I’m not sure why but spectral sight may be the thing about DH that pisses me off the most.
