How can I keep my addon settings when moving my WoW files from one harddrive to the next? I’ve done it before by keeping the addons folder, but when I do it doesn’t keep my settings and I have to set up everything again.
Addon settings are stored in WTF folder; you can close wow, delete whatever WTF folder you have in the new installation (under _retail), and then paste your old one there.
In the WTF folder, there’ll be a SavedVariables folder full of the settings for all your addons - you’ll know it when you see all the names of your addons like you would in the Interface-Addons folder. If I remember correctly, it’ll be the one in your account folder. Copy that folder and move it, but do keep in mind you need to log into WoW after your fresh install in order for it to create a new WTF folder. Once it’s there, go ahead and paste your settings back into the right folder (and of course make sure all your addons are installed beforehand).
