How to Improve WoW Overall

Hi all. I’m the most famous player on WoW who doesn’t stream and or make Tube videos. I need no introduction. Here’s my ideas on how WoW can be improved. Some of these are humorful, whereas others are dead serious ideas on how WoW can have more depth to its gameplay. In this forum post I’m joking, but I’m not.

#1 Warriors should explode and die when they reach maximum rage. The reason for this is that they burst with anger so much that they burst themselves.

#2 We need more grindy quests–E.G.: “Collect 1,000 stringy wolf meat.” But here’s the catch: It’s not a 100% drop chance.

#3 We need a very high level cap. The starter level should be 1, and the maximum character’s level should be 1,000. It should take about 100 days of play time to reach level 1,000. The increase of power from one level to the next should be trivial. This would make WoW more grindy, and the more grindy it is the better of an MMORPG it is.

#4 Armor should be unrepairable. You may ask what the point of this is, and I will tell you it makes it so that your armor eventually gets destroyed so you have to acquire new armor.

#5 Blizzard needs to chillout on the bans. If someone doesn’t like what another person’s saying, then they can put them on ignore.

#6 There’s too much gold in the game. Make things cost a lot of gold and put the gold cap at 100,000 gold. You might say: How do we deal with people who have more than 100,000 gold already? The answer to that is that their gold is not reduced, but they can no longer earn more gold so long as their gold is above the gold cap.

#7 NPCs should NEVER go into the grey. What do I mean by that? I mean that even wolves in Northshire should still give XP to a level 59 player, even if it’s a trivial amount of XP.

#8 Gear should be extremely hard to acquire. The average player should only have green gear at their best.

#9 Blizzard should hire Cdew and a skill-capped PvEer to redesign healing specs.

#10 Blizzard should hire Smexxin to improve the warrior’s class design in PvP.

#11 Bring it back so that players have to spend gold to level up their skills at a class trainer as they’re leveling.

#12 Make a theme song for each class. When you begin fighting a class in PvP, that class should have a short little theme song. This would add something cool to PvP. The theme song would not immediately change upon targeting a different player, but the theme song would begin when you first attack a player. These theme songs would be short and sweet, like PvP is. These theme songs should last about 20 seconds.

#13 Make it so that every class can have a pet, and not just hunters.

#14 Make it so that every race can be every class.

#15 Remove racial abilities so that people can play the race that they want to without having to play something that they dislike just for the sake of meta.

#16 This idea should have been done ages ago, and it was slightly done in TBC: Make it so that the Alliance and the Horde can fight for territories in the open world, and owning a territory offers certain benefits.

#17 Make it so that players’ health doesn’t regen. Make it so that players either have to be healed or eat food to regenerate health. Improve the stat bonuses that food offers in order to make the cooking profession valid again.

#18 Blizzard needs to stop making these fake “Draft Errors” on the forum post in their attempts to control what gets posted on the forums.

#19 Make it so that good gear drops from random mobs in the open world, and it has an extremely small amount of chance to drop these good items. This will keep players fighting each other and farming mobs for a chance at getting a good piece of gear.

#20 Make procedurally-generated quests that are different every time but involve acquiring some items or another in order to complete the quest. This will give players infinite questing to do and Blizzard won’t have to design new quests.

#21 Bring back the open world treasure chests that contain goodies. Those were always fun, and I think they should offer even more valuable items than they did in the past.

#22 Vanilla had it right: The best items in the game–such as Sulfuras hammer–should be crafted with professions, but those items should require materials dropped from raid bosses and earned from PvP.

#23 Blizzard should add a survival aspect to WoW, such as a hunger bar that if you let yourself go hungry you die from starvation. This too will make the cooking profession more relevant. Players should have to drink to survive as well.

#24 Make it so that players’ armories show their killing blows as opposed to their honorable kills. Honorable kills are mostly assists, but killing blows are a much more legitimate thing to keep track of.

#25 I don’t know how I feel about Blizzard nerfing CC, as in PvP CC is already reduced by Diminishing Returns if bad players overlap their CC. With CC being nerfed, CC abilities will pretty much just be used to knock casts, so they’re no better than a warrior’s pummel.

#26 WoW is just a DPS rotation or healing rotation with a few cooldowns which need to be used at opportunistic and or strategic times. Blizzard needs to hire some intelligent people who will make the DPS rotations and the healing rotations as deep and complex as they can be. One way that the DPS rotations and healing rotations can be improved, is to give DPS specs and healer specs a single ability which they can use regardless of the global cooldown (GCD.) That would make the game faster-paced, and the resource management more interesting.

#27 Blizzard needs to rework all classes’ resources, whether it be Rage, Energy, Focus, or Mana, all classes need a rework of their resource system. The resource systems should be as deep and complex as they can be. This would give the game a higher skill-cap, which WoW is in dire need of.

#28 Blizzard should remove flameshock’s cooldown, and make it so that without primordial wave, shaman’s lavaburst hits all targets that have flameshock applied to them. Elemental shamans currently have no defense and get trained every arena, so Blizzard needs to compensate by giving them offensive power.

#29 Bring it back so that hunters have to buy ammo for their bows/guns/crossbows. Make ammunition cost a little amount of money, so that it’s not a burden but it still adds something else to pay for in the game.

#30 Nerf ALL invulnerabilities. This includes but is not limited to divine shield, aspect of the turtle, and iceblock. Invulnerabilities are overpowered in PvP if you don’t have a warrior with shattering throw or a priest with mass dispel. Worst of all is that aspect of the turtle cannot be shattered nor dispelled.

#31 Nerf ALL escapes and gap-closers. There’s too much mobility in WoW PvP. You never run at a guy because every class has a power to “charge” in, or two powers at that. Remove warriors’ double-time talent.

#32 Nerf ALL stealth abilities. Stealth is the bane of 2v2 arena, along with invulnerabilities. Rogues, druids, mages, and hunters all deserve an invisibility, but it should only last for 30 seconds and have a 1 minute cooldown.

#33 Make it so that casters HAVE TO CAST. Reduce the amount of instant casts that casters have, and reduce hunters’ instant cast attacks. Make it so that hunters with guns or crossbows have to load their weapon with a 1 second cast time, and hunters with bows take 1 second to draw their bow. Make it so that abilities like paladins’ rebuke and warriors’ pummel are able to knock hunters’ casts.

#34 Make it so that AoE attacks DO DAMAGE. Whirlwind is pathetic! AoE powers should only do slightly less damage than single target, because this will encourage players to use single target against a chosen player, or use AoE in a group fight situation.

That’s all for now. Give your opinions below. Feedback is always welcome, but I will probably reject your feedback just like Blizzard rejects all of their players’ feedback.

#35 we should be crushed and killed with a violent splat whenever giant NPCs die and fall on us.

I agree to all of these except one one of them

OP likes Dark Age of Camelot, he asks to add in all the problems they had that made WoW look like an oasis.

That reminds me of ESO CP levels. After you hit level cap you still don’t really hit your full DPS potential until around CP level 900…which takes a while to get to, but I can’t remember if it takes 100 days or not.

As a BM Hunter I will say this.

No.

100%

Chaotic but I live

Player-made quests would be better tbh. CoH used to have a mission architect feature that people could use to build their own dungeons or RP zones.

Asmonbald?

Good. We don’t need another spreading the plague…

Yup thats as far as i got

I’m down to support #s 1, 4, 11, 14, 17, 21, 23, 34.

I see the entire point of this thread. :dracthyr_hehe_animated:

You need a one line “tldr” summing it all up.

Letting people play a class right away breaks immersion. You should have to go your class hall and sit through lectures and training videos for a few weeks before taking an exam.

Then you study as an apprentice
/ intern under a more experienced player until they’re comfortable recommending you to be licensed as a full member of that class.

high effort sunday post
i like it

i like most of your suggestions. some of your suggestions are not good. like aoe attacks doing damage. they should do NO DAMAGE.

As long as belves are removed from the game I support this then the horde will be empty as should be.

remove draenei from the game. wow will be 10000% better.
