How to improve the work order system

So I am not a fan of the new craft order system. I like what it is trying to be, but what it is, is problematic. Let me explain.

Public work orders are a waste of space as is. They are very rarely available for most crafters and when they are, you almost never get the quality you want.

Minquality and a +1 inspiration possible checkbox should be able to be put in public work orders. Right now if you want a work order made you have to sit and watch trade chat spam. Most people I know are completing the work order quests sending orders from alts. Not great gameplay. Also would be nice if you could make a work order that included x optional recrafts to get the quality you want instead of making an order after order til you get your proc all the while hoping the person who is telling you they can proc higher quality isn’t lying just to get the skillups.

I think the system feels backwards. Different crafters require different levels of mats to craft different quality. It feels like crafters would be better served being able to post up to 20 work order tickets available showing their inspiration, tip amount, what finishing agents they are willing to use at that price and what min quality materials they require to produce your desired output. That would give buyers options and make public offers more usable. I am sure plenty of folks who don’t mind spamming trade chat don’t mind the system, but all of these things are mostly inaccessible toa large portion of the player base.

I absolutely despise the current system. Out of Tailoring, Enchanting and Inscription I haven’t see a single WO or person requesting one in a week. That leaves in order to level, I have abuse the system and use my own alts.
I have no clue what mushrooms Blizzard was on when they thought it was a great idea the way it is now.

I had the same thought about the system feeling backwards. Crafters should list their items and abilities for buyers to choose from, just like every retailer IRL.

I have another idea to improve work order.

Instead of crafters instantly completing a work order, the crafter completes a work sample. The sample is just a completed work order, but it doesn’t end the work order. This let multiple crafters making the item from the same work order.

After a bunch of crafters create a bunch of work samples, the customer comes back and choose from one of the samples to end the work order. And that crafter gets the commission.

In addition, the crafter can request extra gold for their work. So ideally, crafters making low quality items should be cheaper than high quality crafters. Now customers have a choice of cheap products or expensive 5 star items. And this let low quality crafters skill up without getting locked out because they can’t craft 5 star.
