How to hold aggro off frost mage on skittish

Their burst is op

You let them die until they learn to not be an idiot.

Frost mage passively slows everything they touch, it doesn’t matter if they pull aggro cause they can kite things indefinitely.

Use that to your advantage.

Something else to keep in mind: if someone pulls aggro off you and then you taunt the mob, you gain whatever threat level they had on the mob + the mobs attention (aggro) + increased threat modifier in your damage spells for a few seconds.

It’s advantageous to let someone pull threat and then taunt it from them and smack it. You get all the threat they generated + a bit extra of your own.

Don’t treat “losing aggro” as some kind of “bad thing”. Use threat mechanics to gain advantage when in low threat generating situations (ie skittish, or just grouped with DPS more geared than you are).

You don’t need to run 2x Deafening crash. Switch one for something like Iron Fortress, Brace for Impact, or ideally, another Bastion (THAT one you should stack, to three if you can get them).

Really, at your gear level you can get away with not using DC at all.

You should always have one DC trait. Period.

So is yours. Abuse avatar+demo.

I kind of had a feeling you’d be the one to burn me for this.

Yes, even after the nerf, it’s still very strong. I’d still take 3x BoM for the extra burst over 2 BoM and 1 DC. Now, if you can get 3-and-1, so much the better.

I definitely get the mindset, and I’m not saying you’re wrong. I don’t push super high keys, though (because let’s face it, why should I?), so forgoing DC works fine for me; at least until I score a more optimized Azerite piece.

This is the key thing. You chose that for you, you don’t care to use it. Well enough, play your game.

But don’t give someone else advice that is sub-optimal Based on how you play. When someone’s looking for advice or help, hit that first. If they come back and ask again about something like “Hey can I drop something for more damage” mention it.

Avatar + demo.

Smash the targets into the ground and spread the love of shield slam.

I.e switch targets a lot to spread out your threat generation unless there is a priority target.

You won’t lose threat all that much, but if you do, toss a taunt on it. If taunt is down stun it (unless you need to save your stun for something/it is immune) and focus it for a moment.

Skittish is really a non-issue the majority of the time.

I’m coming here to say you don’t need any traits, I tanked a +27 as a Prot warrior with all fury traits and on top of that my team mates died on the last boss and I solo’d it from 97%… plus I 1v1’d Drez and won with both hands tied behind my back while I was simultaneously cooking dinner plus I was also filling the inflatable pool up for the kids.

Press warrior buttons and the threat will come to you. Do not stop pressing buttons, for then you will not be attacking. Warriors should always be attacking unless they are dodging. Dodging is good but not as good as attacking.
