How to heal with resto Druid

How on earth do you heal with Resto? I get my Rejuvenation up then my Regrowth…and then??? Am I supposed to be spamming Regrowth or Norish? I use Swiftmend when the tank or anyone else is in real danger…I was in Alal’Dazar and people where dropping like flies. Granted there ARE a lot of trash that cast fear…but still…I WANT to be good at Druid. The class is fun, please take me under your wing(s) pun intended

Take this as a general guide-line. Just the basics. I haven’t dabbled in Resto much and not for awhile. But!

  1. Druids are proactive. Not reactive. You have to have tour heals in place and going before the damage hits

  2. Mastery: bread and butter of Resto. Your heals do more healing with each active HoT on your target (how much more is based on your Mastery rating). I.E. - you cast Rejuvenation, and it’ll heal for its amount. Cast Regrowth on target with Rejuv and now both Rejuv and Regrowth are healing for more on each individual spell and each tick because you’re stacking HoTs. Add in another HoT and now all 3 spells are ticking for THAT MUCH MORE individually.

  3. Let your HoTs do their work. They heal over time. Your tank sitting at 70% health, don’t worry about. That DPS at 85%…no sweat. They’ll be back up to 100% in a few seconds. Don’t worry about spamming Regrowth to top them off.

  4. don’t be afraid to use your big cool downs. Learn what they do and what situations best benefit from them.

Little more detail on how Mastery works (numbers made up for ease of explaining):

Efflorescence (AoE heal): ticks for 100
Rejuv: ticks for 500
Regrowth hot factor: ticks for 200

You cast Efflorescence at the Tanks position. Starts to heal him for 100 a tick. Then you cast Rejuv. So tank has Rejuv and Efflo

Efflo now ticks for 150. Rejuv ticks for 750. Now you cast Regrowth on tank. So now he’s got 3 HoTs going.

Efflo ticks for 225, Rejuv for 1125, and Regrowth ticking at 450.

With each consecutive HoT, every HoT got stronger. Including the one that just got cast.

I’m hoping someone else can chime in. I know I’m right; I just feel like I’m poor at explaining it lol
