How to handle Mythic leavers idea (Input welcome)

Believe it or not but the easiest fix it to NOT run mythic+ with pugs. I know it sounds ridiculous but it’s so much better to just find a guild and do it with them.

You can create a bunch of weird mechanics that will “deal” with the problem but in the end I’m sure more honest people will get hurt by them. There just isn’t a magical solution that works for everyone and punish those who deserve it.

Then we have all kinds of exploits that will be birthed from some of those fixes. Mythic+ is just such a mess and it’s so poorly “balanced” for pug plays.

Some of those ideas look quite interesting but in the end it all comes down to what blizzard will do.

Could they just add a rating system to the raiderio addon where if someone leaves you can mark it on their rating?

The only solution I would probably approve would be a sort of blacklist. If player X leaves, that player is now blacklisted to the other 4 people. Player X can no longer see any group that the other 4 players are in. In theory, the more they quit keys, the less and less they will be able to join keys.

If you have a single unfortunate situation where you have to leave, it isn’t a big issue, because you only can’t play with those 4 people again. It only becomes an issue the more one quits.

The best solution IMO would be to offer an option to fully reset the key without downgrading it.

There’s no good solution to continue a key when someone leaves because it would make selling runs way easier or it could lead to weird part where you invite a warlock just for his gate skip etc or invite a player to reset lust (a player that wait outside will be able to reset his lust).

There’s only 2 way for me that they could make m+ system better:
-make it so the key doesn’t lose level when someone leaves
-remove the key system, make it so it’s a progression system where you need to time a +2 to do a +3, time a +3 to do a +4, …, time a +9 to do a +10.

I got your point, but IMHO that still a punishment in some way, and also a really good warning for people who wants a clean group. I don’t think that punishment is something that always should be considerer as a bad thing, under certains cricunstances punishment it’s the right think to do, not only for the punished person but for the people of good will who don’t deserve to be affected for this kind of behaviors.

Lol wut!!!

Honestly I feel all of that is overly complicated, I have a much easier solution…

For all keys under +10 you can start over fresh as many times as you want on the same difficulty level, in other words, stepping out and starting again would not detract one level from your key. So if someone leaves, well yes you have to start over but you do so at the same level.

Yes this means that if you are not going to time it you could re-do it over and over until you get it, which is fine, that’s why this is only for keys under 10, the whole point of doing lower keys is to learn right?, I don’t see the harm of a group running it multiple times until they get it, that’s how raiding works too and you learn from those runs until you master it.

Edit: This btw is also how things work in basically every game, you fail a level, then you try again the same level, you don’t need to go back and clear one level lower.

Personally, I put them on the ignore list (depending on the severity of course) and never do a M+ with them again. People seem to hate changing the system so just ignore the people.
